Scavenging Race (Crews 3 & 4)

Great job for both teams! ^^ I think that the Moon Bunnies still posted really fast, all things considered. The fact that it's a race definitely puts a lot of pressure on everyone and requires a lot of coordination, and I can't imagine how it feels for people with different timezones. If I'm being honest, I couldn't even keep up with my own team and the submission post was up before I even got a chance to properly look through the list. Even then, I felt like I would have only been able to contribute one photo quickly enough if I was there on time. 😅 I think both teams did an amazing job!

Saw some Moon Bunnies feeling a little bummed and wanted to do a little something to show some support. ;v; I believe in you all, and best of luck to both teams for the next round! 🤍💜

Chere this is so adorable and wholesome 😭 was gonna suggest a whale hugging a bun in the discord to show some love and support but you're always on top of things with the amazing art💜

I also missed the whole submission thanks to sleep and even if I was awake I'm not sure I would've caught up - can understand the frustration felt but just wanted to say both teams are doing an amazing job and while changing teams throughout the event (if it had been possible) might've helped everyone feel more motivated I couldn't imagine going through each area without the Moon Bunnies - a team full of fantastic members and talent, I mean can the other two teams say they have appreciated Jambette in the stars or watched a bunny ufo steal veg? They've missed out on the fun!
Congrats to both teams, proud of my fellow whales but I believe in you buns to bounce back 🐳💜🌙🐇

We appreciate our cetaceous counterparts as well! I almost said rivals, but that didn't feel right. We truly have been in this together and it's been great seeing all your posts throughout. Your little meme bird from the UFO thread was adorable. Whoever drew that deserves a star! 🌟

ROUND 1 RESULTS

Amazing teamwork everyone! We were able to retrieve items from the transmitted list from both divisions! At a slightly faster speed, International Space Cetacean blitzed through and have earned themselves 100 points. Moon Bunnies and International Space Cetacean crewmates will all receive 5 Mission Tokens and 6 Cargo Tokens.

You all did so well right out of the gate! There are two more rounds to go and it's anyone's game. Also, I'd be careful submitting the minimum every round just in case a photo doesn't fit the prompt. A round duration is two days, so have fun scavenging!

Decoding this transmission is taking a few days, but it should be ready by Friday, August 11 @ 12 PM EDT. The night crew can now rest because the day crew will take over the next round!

i only skimmed posts so apologies if i'm parroting someone

just adding to discussion but honestly i think these activity-based events wouldn't be so bad if either:

1. there was only one of them per event (so either wishing well or scavenger race, not both - unless the hunt isn't a race)
2. there was only one big round each event
3. if multiple rounds/both events are going on, each round or event is against a different team

the most active teams are always gonna crush these events regardless of who they're up against but i can only imagine watching the whale shark consume god twice and then finding out you have another two races against us

The wishing well was night and day despite time zones. Alot of people on ISC got up in their sleeping time a few mins to collect dust to my understanding, and decided to do that on their own. It wasn't about who lived in what time zone or who was normally a very active user. They did it because it was an event. And since the windows lasted both night and day, I don't see why it would matter when it actually started. Unless I am missing something. But if having some wishing windows start in the AM EST time help things feel fair to those this bothers, then I don't see the issue in having some windows start in AM EST time. Windows would then have to be a minimum of 4 rounds and alternate AM EST and PM EST. But even then it is possible someone will criticize the time the last window starts if there is a special prize with that one when other rounds didn't have that.

I do agree the scavenger hunt could have some rounds in the AM EST time because that ends as soon as a team actually completes the list and submits rather than it being a window that lasts like the wishing well or ufo thing. But you will still have participants who will probably wake up in their sleeping time regardless to participate and get the stuff submitted in a matter of minutes.

And I do agree it would be interesting and fun to compete against each team that existed, but I am not sure that it would change the end game result like some seem to think it may. But that very last part is super opinion based.

Yeah, I am one of those people who love the TBT events and will disrupt my sleep in order to participate in them.

For the Wishing event, I had an alarm to ping me to grind for star dust, which is why my name appeared throughout the forum as I was doing my best to collect as much star dust to feed my whale.

As for the scavenger hunt, I did delay my sleep in order to actively participate in it as quickly as I could because it was a race to see which team could complete it first.

In NO WAY, was this coordinated or asked of us users to wake up or delay sleeping (or real life in general). I just wanted to do my best to help out with the team.

I think some Moon Bunnies were setting alarms too! 😆

It feels like overall there's less active Moon Bunnies (I'm not even sure we had enough people last night to cover all 15 items!) so these head-to-heads are rough 🤕 It'd be interesting to see how we'd fair against the other teams, though I do love hanging out with our Cetacean friends! 🤍💜

In the future, it'd be nice to have a day's warning before the race started, as I know some people didn't even find out about this event until the race was already over 😅 But that's something for the feedback form!

Thats how every camp tbt has worked, the more active team wins. Last 2 teams I was on the losing team both times, and thats because my team just had less active members in. We didn't get as many participation points so we lost.
Its really just luck of the draw who you get teamed with and which team has more active people on. This event reflects that, unfortunately the issue is more to do with the fact that its a team based event.

It was easy to collect dust at any time of the day, for the scavenger hunt it needs a bit more preparation, for the first round I couldn't take much photos because my family was already in bed and I couldn't go to the their room or close to get things I needed (my camera doesn't work that well in low light anyway). I didn't see myself taking my bike to go the park several km away at night and in the rain to get the picnic table pic either. So I get why some are upset. Everybody want to participate and have the time to do it. I'm not complaining for the next ones, those hours are perfect for me, I hope I will do better next time.
