Mafia Shadowrun: Dragonfall Mafia - Town Wins!

[9/8/2015 7:34:18 AM] mai: Hahahaha you cant get on your computer hahahahhaa loser
[9/8/2015 7:38:55 AM] Abe: Shut up
[9/8/2015 7:39:10 AM] Abe: Also making me godfather was unfair to town
[9/8/2015 7:39:43 AM] Abe: Getting me lynched is way harder than this batch of players is up to

Rekt son.

Nice play though Ender. GG overall.

Ill look at chats and **** when I get home. Work's a *****

Nice play Ender, very clever. Looking forward to playing more games with you. :)

:D

I'm legitimately sad that my silly mech plays is all I could bring. And lynching Endless. God I got horribly messed up in my reads. See this is really distressing for me as a player because one of the things I'm really known for is being a REALLY good person at reading alignments.

Also, a generic question: Do you guys think meta is a legitimate piece of evidence or no? I thought at first it was a tool scum used to get people lynched, but the more I think about it, using meta could actually be pretty effective imo. Otherwise, Im certain that we couldn't have gotten Endless.

It is. But here's the thing: Meta is subjective, and you have to ALWAYS be aware that the person can change. For instance, catching Endless used to be a lot easier for me. Because I could always meta-read him. Then he worked out what I was doing and faked a town-tell as mafia and screwed me over.

Suffice to say I am never comfortable relying on purely meta. :D

However, Meta is a very good base to use. I know that my reading style often over-uses meta, but it is quite successful soooooo :D

Also:

Seriously Dad, thank you for that little spiel about doctors. It set up the entire rest of the game in regards to fake-claims and allowed me to screw with the mafia. It also cemented you as town. :D

ok whenever wotc is active again make sure to vote for me i'm starting my campaign right now

and thank you dad for your kind words even if you weren't mafia~

What's wotc?
WOTC is wisdom of the crowds. Each person gets to vote for somebody who they don't want to play with (because they're super inactive, don't try, spam, etc) and if they reach a certain number of votes they're kicked from the game. You can also choose not to vote.

Man, youve been town every time too lol. Ive been scum more than town on here
Meta is useful, because honestly if I was town aligned this game I would have been patting myself on the back for getting Endless. Like honestly even knowing that he was godfather it felt way to obvious.

I think meta is more useful in long term mafia games (not the short little epicmafia style games), because people can't just cover up their psychology/personality that easily. That being said, I think it should be used behind in-game actions rather than something to solely base a lynch off - meta is what led me to feeling sure about Endless though lol. Tom, however, was purely suspicious because of his in-game activity/behavior. Crys too. LaBelle was right in the end about mafia coasting but we repented for lynching her and Rune.

So much dad hating in obs chat. I mean it's not like this is one of my best games as town or anything.
I really didn't feel like we were coasting there, for the most part we were just fossing people who were already acting shady. LaBelle was too easy of a lynch and their posts weren't up to snuff until the day of their lynch. Really our mistake was letting too many strong players live. I considered fighting the whole doc claim a little while longer, but honestly I decided to just focus on classwork instead. No point in wasting time lying when you guys were pretty much guaranteed to lynch us.

Really don't think 3 mafia is enough with this many players, but I guess it was ultimately my fault my team lost, so meh.

As for using meta as a method of reading; yeah, go ahead. Meta can and will always be useful when figuring someone's alignment out. However, it should only ever be used as a lead and must be backed up with other content. Otherwise incidents happen like one game where Ender lynched all my partners consecutively at the start only to fail to lynch me for the rest of the entire game, having the option between me and someone else at three way.

4 maf for a 15 player game seems too much to me tbh

It wasn't really 3 mislynches though. Justice gave us one. You guys just happened to shoot a Vet and a Doc target. If it werent for either of those, you guys would have won.

There were two modkills. And one of our kills hitting a save is counterbalanced by the vig shooting a town.

ok perfect maf game here

3 maf 15 people
ml day 1 leaves 14
2 kills n1 leaves 12
ml day 2 leaves 11
2 kills n2 leaves 9
ml day 3 leaves 8
2 kills n3 leaves 6
town loss

BUT, that's only a PERFECT game for mafia and, of the three that are left on town, 2 would have to be vets and the doctor would've had to be either really stupid/died night 1/inactive

ive always done 1 maf for every 5 players or so, sometimes 4. i think i do 1.25 blues for every 5 players. 1 for every 3 players is way too much for this forum, though
and besides abe, who was the one saying this game was unfair for town~~

I still think 3 maf for 15 town was fair, but 4 maf for 15 town would be unbalanced. Had your godfather not been lynched day 2, things might have gone better for you and the crosses would be more difficult, but we scumhunted Abe out fair and square. If you want to get technical though, we should have had one less PR.

4 maf in 15 is usually more balanced but it depends on the forum. 3 in 15 doesn't seem too bad here. :D

The point of the matter is that the amount of mafia shouldn't ever be the same number as the amount of mls. If I need to explain why then idek.

As for scumhunting me out fair and square: Yeah, you did. I'm not complaining about that. (Well, I am, but that's not the point of this discussion.) You found it horribly hard to lynch either of my partners and they deserved to win the game from that. (Like literally, you didn't figure them out. You merely lynched every other non-clear other than you and wound up winning that way.)

And cop didn't get any more reports bar ender who was confirmed town anyway so it didn't even matter that godfather was lynched.
