I actually liked having their stores in main street, but yet it's so sad you can't visit them any other time other then when they're in their stores. So I voted for the option for the stores to be on main street again and to have them have their own homes in town. I would love to see more interacting with them, rather than just in the store. :)

It could be neat if you just have all the stores in your town and you have the choice to put every building together and build your own kind of Main Street only if you wanted to

I would like a bit of both. I always liked having stores in my village in WW and I found that I didn?t visit the stores as much in NL because they were so out of the way. I like the idea of a Main Street, but is also love some little shops in my actual village. Maybe a small garnering shop, cafe or boutique. I?d also like to see some of the store keepers having homes. Not all cause I?d imagine some would probably commute from other areas but I definitely think Leif, Kicks, Tom Nook and Isabel would love near or in our town.

If all of the shops were scattered around town, there would probably be more shops than villager houses, which just wouldn't feel right IMO. The town would feel more like a shopping center than a village. So for that reason, I'd prefer most of the shops to be separate, whether it's a Main Street, a separate city (like on Wii), or something different altogether.

i agree with this. i voted for the third option. it would be cute to visit NPCs outside of shopping hours, but there are so many, that if they had their shops or homes in town, they would equal or outnumber the villagers, and it wouldn?t have that neighborly, AC-feeling. and for goodness sakes, give Isabelle a home!!!

I'd like for the stores to remain on Main Street but I'd be down for NPC homes in my town so long we can choose where they plot there houses.

I'd prefer having the shops back in town, but I'm not against a Main Street either. I liked it, but if it's going to be there I'd also like not having to deal with a loading screen to get there. I know they did that so as that separate villagers who lived in your town from those who were visiting for shopping, but it's still something I'd like.

with advancing times, i think having the stores in a separate urban area is more reflective of the "progressive society" in animal crossing.

however, if there was an option to live in different settings (urban or rural) that would be a neat way of appealing to each side, old vs new basically and making the old something new is always attractive to audiences. to me it depends on how it is applied in the town because im weary of the space I'll have for public works projects.

I’m the unpopular opinion where as I do not want NPC houses in my town at all. I don’t mind them on Main Street but I don’t want them in town.

I'd still want stores like Re-Tail to remain in town, personally. Then again, I wouldn't care too much if things were changed.

i feel like there are so many npcs that if they were to have houses in the town, everything would become way too crowded. there would have to be a bigger map if every npc were to get a home. i wouldnt mind one or two npcs living in the town, though

I think having something separate for most of the shops, like Main Street, is best UNLESS we can specifically choose where the shops go. Then you can have it both ways - either make your own "Main Street", or spread the shops throughout the town. I'd just be worried if the shops are in town that that could mess up your map pretty easily, and like jvgsjeff mentioned, having all the shops in town would probably just be too much.

As for where the NPCs live, I think having a mix might be best. Or maybe there could be a separate thing, an apartment complex/area you can visit where when the shops are closed, you can sometimes visit the NPCs at home - maybe the lights in their house would be on, showing you they're home and you can go visit them.

I'd like there to be a separate main street with shops, but more like it is in New Leaf, like customizable areas, and more than just a straight strip.

I'd like to see Main Street being incorporated in the town. Maybe around the town plaza. And less urban looking. This would probably mean that they would have to make a lot of changes to Animal Crossing which I'm all for. If they're gonna keep with the old formula then it probably wouldn't work very well.

I?m wondering if Animal Crossing Switch will provide a larger map that would accomodate everything. I doubt that they would put shops back into the town, but I enjoyed the way it was is WW. It made it feel a lot more like a small town even after upgading Nook?s.

I wouldn't mind another main street, but I also really miss having stores integrated into different places in the town. it made each town feel a lot more unique

npcs having their own homes is also something I've wanted for a long time - let us interact with them during their off hours! maybe their rooms could be added behind/above their shops

I kinda like main street being its own separate area. I kinda wish ReTail and The Roost were on main street too. It has always felt funny to me that those shops are not with the other shops. If they weren't in the main town area, like New Leaf, then we'd have more room for decorating in other ways, or more room for other villager houses.

So yeah - I would like the shops to stay in their own area.

Yeah it would definitely make each town feel different, especially if you could choose the shop exteriors. I really didnt like that everyone's main street looked identical with the only variation being which side the museum would be on. Plus you can't see people's museums in their dream address just cuz it was in a different area. I want to be able to see it in the next game when I visit their version of the dream suite. And that only works if it's in the main area of the town. And yeah, maybe the entrance to the shop keepers' house is behind their shops! Or on the side, just so the front of the shops don't have 2 doors. Of course for any of this to work and not feel crowded, the town would have to be much larger, and honestly, that's what I'm hoping for.

NPCs houses in the twon is actually a super good idea omg! That would make your town way more active and full in my opinion. Also I really liked the Main Street so I'm all for that!

Having all the shops together in New Leaf makes everything feel easy, except having Retail in the main town, that usually meant a lot of running back and forth for me which was very annoying. So I'd put all shops up on Main Street, and that leaves more town area for building in!

I miss having a bigger town with the shops integrated within the town. I thought it felt more like a real town. But I'm afraid there are too many shops and NPCs now, so it would make the town far too cluttered.

But if it were possible, I'd still love to see most of the shops back in town and have the NPCs live upstairs or in the back of their shops. And I'd like to be able to visit them in their living quarters when they're not working.
