I haven't found a dreamy yet. The best villagers (for my tastes) I've found were the two I invited: Poppy and Piper. Most of the villagers I've found have been ugly, low (even on TBT) tier villagers.
The only exception to that is I found Julian. I'm sure the Julian fans were sad that I didn't invite him and left him there. If I were to make my own personal tiering, I find him average to low personally.

I decided to hold out for one of my dreamies for my 10th villager, and after visiting a lot of islands I finally found one yesterday! My heart skipped a beat when I saw Muffy (yay) off in the distance! Can't wait for her to move in. Funny thing is that I recieved a letter from her today even though she's not here yet. Strange.

The past is obdurate
I’ve found nearly all my dream villagers on the island, apart from Fang who I should be getting his amiibo for today or tomorrow. But I’ve literally seen every popular villager, just today I’ve come across Beau, Wolfgang, Maple and then Diana twice.
My finds were Zucker, Lolly, Erik, Marina, Whitney, Chief, Sherb, Fauna, Molly, most recently today was Raymond. I love this new feature

ive found a lot of good villagers so far from looking on islands, including goldie, sherb, and one of my dreamies, flurry !!!! ;__; my island is full as of the moment because hopper moved into the last spot and im trying to move him or robin out, but ill definitely continue to look on islands once i do move someone i dont want out !!

How many Nook Miles did it cost to find them all?
I previously got Marina and Flora, and today I found Tangy, my most-wanted villager!
I was shocked because I found her after using only 2 Nook tickets... I had bought 26 of them and was expecting to have to use them all to find even an acceptable villager. I wasn't expecting my #1 favorite after only two tries! I have had ridiculously good luck so far. Marina took 3 tickets, Flora 2, and Tangy 2.
Now I just have to find Lolly, Shari, Fauna, a nice lazy villager, and a snooty I don't mind.

After over 300 Nook Mile tickets (don't ask) I found Raymond earlier!! Picture is in my signature~
Raymond and Cyd are my top two dreamies so I'm beyond happy that I found both of them while island hopping, after using almost 350 tickets total. I didn't think I'd be able to find either of them, but apparently dreams do come true sometimes :'D

Yesterday I was lucky to find Beau with my very last ticket ! Invited of course.
Bunnie, Flurry, Elvis, Diana. I was hunting for a snooty and cranky to finish off my island.
I also encountered Merengue (hurt me not to take her but I have 2 normals already), Octavian, Raddle and others that I would've loved to invite.

Just got Marina! She was in my a New Leaf town until I became sick and couldn't play for a few months. She moved during that time and I was heartbroken.
This is like a reunion!
She was on the money island in with bells inside every rock. Luckily on the side where I could reach her. I couldn't get to the little island with more money rocks on it.

Raymond was the very first villager in my campsite-- the one you have to move in. I was so pleased! I had no idea how popular he would be, I had just seen fanart of him all over twitter LOL
I went through 100 tickets. Villagers I ended up keeping were Chester, Hamphrey, Vivian and Audie.
I skipped over alot of really popular villagers (Rosie, Marina, Merengue). Would of loved to take them for someone else but they would be stuck with me for a long time since I'm not time traveling.
Gonna trade Audie and (maybe)Vivian if they ever wants to move. I have three wolves atm(Dobie is the 3rd). Told myself I wouldn't double up on species when I started but somehow ended up with 3 wolves lol

I got all but four of my dreamies from island hopping. Stitches, Audie, and Marina were my OG three villagers you get after you build house plots for the first time. (Spent days searching for Stitches.) Found Lolly and Rolf later and then Judy! Genji was an lucky random move-in lol.
Definitely not using mystery islands as a means to find specific villagers. But I am happy with those who I have invited from there! In order of appearance: Jambette, Freya, Bianca, and Hamphrey.
