Snow finally melted! Yay!

I don't live where it snows in real life so I don't know how long snow hangs around in real time, but for me, 3 months is entirely too long, especially on a supposedly tropical island.

NH isn’t set on a tropical island, it’s set on a deserted island. Tbf, it’s an easy mistake to make, in general a lot of deserted islands ARE tropical… but the island NH’s set on is more like one of the more remote islands of Japan.

If it was actually set on a tropical island, it’d make it hard to do normal AC stuff like “have the seasons change in real time”

(Sorry for getting a bit grouchy there, it’s just one of those facts that end up getting distorted then shared around a lot, like “AC and Splatoon share the same team” [it’s about 40 shared people max, and no AC game has 100% the same team as the last one as most of the people move between different projects] and it’s just frustrating to hear it repeated again and again)

But, getting back to the actual topic: YEAH BABY THE SNOW’S GONE, NOW FOR ABOUT A WEEK OF UGLY BEIGE GRASS STEADILY GOING AWAY, AND THE GAME’S SECOND ANNIVERSARY IS NEARLY UPON US (so I’m hoping for a little update with a cake)

(also it’s nice to see the camellias not covered in snow for once!)

Thats a Nintendo Logic if tropical islands in real life never get snow. I always found that strange when I first played this game back in 2020.

I agree with others here who liked the snow— I always thought it looked quite pretty, barring the fact that flowers still grew. However, I also agree that snow season lasts about 2-3 weeks too long. It would be better if snow was gone by mid-Feb, and this gross grey season only lasted a very short week. I am so ready for the bright green grass and cherry tree season!

I am also happy to see the snow gone and as a result I feel like I can actually play my game again. I do feel like the snow is more tolerable if your island is already made up and you happen to have some wilderness space for snowball spawns. But if your island is in the middle of being terraformed, the snow is unbearable. It is hard to design if it isn't spring or summer. ( I started this island in the fall... )

Yes finally!!! Snow is fun and in my area we actually got some snow this year which was great but it also didnt hang around long so even better. The brown ground is odd to look at in some of the areas on my island but in a few more days its will be a nice green. Yeah spring!!!

I like the long snow season precisely because if we get any real life snow here, it doesn't last long and I miss my childhood winters. That said, I'm glad I'm able to find my glowing spots during the day again now.

I was the same way! I like my island better without the snow, especially with Christmas over and everything.

Now if only the snow would melt irl...
