I love it from time to time to let villagers move in randomly and don’t invite them from another town or the tent. Can villagers still move new horizons still move in randomly, so, that I don’t ask them or chose them?

And how does it work with villagers moving out? I thought it was perfect in New Leaf BEFORE the amiibo update, cause 10 days from the moment the villagers tells you to move out till he moves finally out is a long time for non-time traveler. And I didnt talked to the moving villager anymore because I was afraid they will ask me again and change their mind all of the sudden.

I hope someone knows

It seems like the mechanic is that you can place a lot where you'd like a villager home/tent to go, and a random one moves in eventually (I am just getting this speculative info from the trailers and videos that I've seen). It basically gives you more of a choice WHERE villagers move in, but as far as i'm aware there is nothing to preference what villagers move to your island (aside from Amiibo obviously). I don't think they've released any info about villagers moving out but I assume its the same as in past games, where they would warn you in passing conversation and you can try to talk them into/out of it. Again, none of this is confirmed.

i also believe Tom Nook will announce on the loudspeaker at the start of the day that he has new candidates for joining the town, and then you visit him and choose from a potential 3 villagers.

i don’t think anybody really knows, yet. i know you get to decide where your villagers go and tom nook will first tell you that he has 3 candidates lined up (if i read correctly, it’ll be a normal, cranky and peppy villager) but idk if those 3 villagers will be randomized or if you’ll get to choose. and as for villagers moving out, it might work the same as in new leaf where nobody will ask to leave until you have 9-10 villagers.

I think one of the reviews said that when you get to the part where you have 3 potential parties waiting to move to the island, you go place the lots and they all move in at once.

So completely random and overwhelming all at once.

Not really sure though
