I'm so sorry for another thread about this, but I have someone waiting on me so I really need an answer and can't really wait for someone to notice my question in the faq thread.

Is the patch where a villager forced out by amiibo leaves a 'I've moved out' plot glitched on the island of the person adopting them fixed?

Someone is offering to force my dreamy out for my with amiibo but I want to make sure I don't get a glitched plot and lose Marshal in the process. Some people have said this glitch is patched but some people are still talking about some kind of glitch? Can anyone confirm or deny?

im not 100% certain but yesterday I adopted an amiibo rosie that might've been forced out by another amiibo. she moved in today (still in boxes) and everything looks fine (knock on wood!) just make sure when you invite them over they dont ask to move in twice

I adopted someone the other night but I don't know if she moved out naturally or not and she came in fine.

But what do you mean about asking to move in twice?

I adopted a Skye that was forced out by an Amiibo card, and Skye was also from an Amiibo card. She moved in today without an issue, she's just unpacking.

Far as we can tell, the "I've moved out." glitch has been fixed. Though, the game still has a few kinks to get rid of. I'm sure Nintendo will handle it when they're able to.

apparently you'll know when a villager is glitched is if they ask to move in again right after you invited them to move in the first time when adopting from someone's island. it's like the first time you asked never happened. this is a key indicator that may players that had glitched plots/villagers reported.

Okay. I'm hoping so, since I really want to adopt someone and not keep the poor person waiting for me any longer. I guess I'll take the chance.

So after I invite them to move in, should I talk to them again and see if it gives me the option to invite them again?

I haven't heard of anyone having issues since the update was released. You're probably fine.

Okay. Well I'm going to take the risk and hope that tomorrow I load up and everything looks normal.

And if he asks twice to move in, to quit without saving. Do I try again if he asks to move twice or just give up?

Do update the results please! And if he asks twice to move in, ask the trader to disconnect trade immediately by force shutting the game, putting their switch on sleep or etc

So the first time I went, I was nervous and forgot to put a plot down. So I left and came back and asked him again and he didn't ask me a second time. He accepted and filled in the plot. However, I have yet to know if my screwing up and forgetting to put a plot down will affect anything, since technically I am asking him twice? He did seem to remember me when I came back again though.

After I adopted him, I checked to make sure his name was on the sign (it was) and then stopped playing for the night. I'm almost considering not playing tomorrow just to let him move in and be out of boxes but I'm not sure.

The trick to tell is after you invite them the first time, speak with them a few more times and if they ask to be invited to your town again, they're bugged and the host puts their console into sleep mode so it boots you out without saving. If they don't ask to move to your island a second time and only talk about "can't wait to move to (your island)" and stuff, and not be invited you're good. I did this with Skye two days ago and she moved in without any issue. I spoke with her like.. a dozen times, not once did she ask to move to my island again.

But truthfully, I think you're fine. The "I've moved out." glitch definitely seems to be fixed! Think about it: has anyone posted they got the glitch since version 1.2.0? I haven't seen a thread, other than people asking if it was fixed, etc.

I don't think it will! Because the # of times you ask them apply if you've already invited them!

I do hope it's fixed! I forgot to put a plot down for him (I was so nervous that I forgot) so I had to leave and come back and ask him a second time. However, that doesn't seem to be an issue regarding the glitch. When he accepted my move in, he just kept talking about how he was now going to be a resident of my island so I think I'm good?

I haven't started my game up yet today, I'm considering waiting until he's fully out of boxes but I'm not sure if that's needed or not (and I'd hate to miss a day). Some people have said that the glitch can happen several days later after adopting, when you go to do some online play - is this true or not?

Yup, Skye kept talking about the same thing, being a resident, etc. No "hey I don't know where I'm going.." stuff. And yes, it could happen later on but I think its because the villager was adopted while it was in its glitched state but still moved in successfully (no I've moved out sign). Since you didn't seem to get prompts for re-invites I think you're fine.

I have my fingers crossed! I mean, I'm sure it's probably safe to play but I'm hesitant still. I'm not sure playing while he's in boxes moving in would affect anything but I feel so nervous to take any chances (my anxiety hates me lately, so everything makes me mega nervous)

I played while Skye was in boxes without any issue. And I definitely know how you feel, considering I also have to deal with extreme anxiety on a daily basis.

My anxiety is super bad, especially being stuck at home with no real way to get relief from it. Especially with all the people making the fake glitches and bugs posts relating to animal crossing, I've become so nervous about the game in general and worrying everything I do might cause the game to crash and I'd lose everything.
