The return of the Inkzooka (best Splat1 special). Squid Squad's potential return. The new hub. Little buddies. The hair styles. The splat bow. How you spawn into the battle.
I love it all. I forgot what Splatoon hype feels like.
I wonder what the new idols will be in this game? It will be interesting to see what the next duo is like in a post-apocalyptic world.
Looks like the Splatoon ritual I made just after Christmas asking for Splatoon 3 in the next big direct worked.

Also, now that i'm thinking about it, the Eiffel tower could just be Inkopolis plaza but destroyed completely. This would make sense since the train station the inkling and salmonid board on after passing it is the train you see in the back of the hub in the first game.

tbh my first thought after seeing the upside down eiffel tower was just that 1 miraculous episode but that's probably just my mind obsessing over that show

anyway! same, i'm so excited for this it's unreal!!!
i literally love the post-apocalyptic theme aswell, it's so cool and cute at the same time and i'm hoping splatfests will be back, which they most likely will, but i need that chaos vs order battle on a broken eiffel tower haha

Did it take you guys awhile to get the hang of Splatoon? I tried to play Splatoon 2 awhile back, but I couldn’t get the hang of the weapons...

After seeing this trailer, I really want to try again, but I’m not sure...

i used the storymode to train and get used to the gameplay then used the test area in the shop to see what weapons i felt most comfortable using

it did take me awhile to get the hang of it but once i played more, i found it really easy and very enjoyable ^-^

Okie then! Also, thanks for the reply. I kinda had a hard time with story mode too, but using it to train sounds like a good idea. I’ll give it some time to think about it. I just love the Splatoon characters soo much, so that’s one of the reasons I want to play again.

Looking at this thread from Nintendo of America's twitter, there's a bit more details on whats happening in the trailer!

• You can CHOOSE WHERE YOU SUPERJUMP TO BEFORE BEGINNING THE BATTLE-
• The location is far from Inkopolis, and is on a borderland called the "Splatlands". The hub city is called "Splatsville" (cool)
• New ways to move in battle. "Squid rolls" allow us to leap out of the ink, and "Squid surge" allows us to swim up and jump over walls. oh my goodness-
• "Reconfigured" special weapons taken from Inkopolis are returning special weapons from previous games. We already know of the Inkzooka that is returning, and it looks like the Tenta Missiles are returning too. The robot crab in the trailer is a special it seems.
• Also, I think we already know of the Splat Bow (i'm assuming what it's called) and the redesign of all the different weapons. They look fantastic.

i was literally playing splatoon 2 the other day and i said to my brother "i wonder when nintendo will make another splatoon game"
but i'll definately be playing way more often to practice for the next one aha

Really excited for this. The desert aesthetic feels a bit weird for a game like Splatoon, but I'm sure I'll get used to it. I'm actually happiest about the pet salmonid you apparently get to keep. It's one of those things I kind of wanted in Splatoon 2 but was so oddly specific I just assumed it would never happen.

Also I really like how the final splatfests actually seem to change the plot of the next game. Personally I would have preferred Order to win, but having players' in-game actions determine the fate of a game's sequel is such an amazing concept.

When I was first watching it, I thought it would be DLC for Splatoon 2. I was not expecting a whole new game. I thought we'd have to wait for a new console for a new Splatoon game. Nintendo hardly ever release 2 games for the same series on the same console. I'm freaking hyped!!!

the second i saw the desert with the broken buses, i was like "it's probably a lame zombie thing" and i straight up started to walk out the room and my brother shouted "FISH"
then i came back and saw the inkling and got so excited

You've read my mind i was thinking the same thing. Something i probably don't like. Saw something sitting there, but the realization only come when i saw the customization and then i was frozen for like 3 minutes. I'm soo happy!

I’m so excited for this,, like I can’t even put it into words- the new hair, our liTTLE BUDDY (HES SO CUTE OHMYGOD), the setting, the new mechanics, the LORE!!!!!! Also all the memes I’ve seen are already amazing and we have a single trailer??? Incredible.

For the first few seconds I wasn’t excited at all as the desert really threw me off. I was ready to dismiss it as some game I probably won’t be interested in. Then they showed the inkling and I was like “WHHHAAAATTT!?!?!”

Then I was questioning the whole time “is this additional Splatoon 2 DLC? Or maybe a spin off game? No way it’s Splatoon 3 right?”
