Steven Universe: The movie

(Warning, post has some spoilers for those who didn't watch the movie yet!)
I watched the movie today (because of time zones) and damn, it was pretty good. I really enjoyed the
story as well as the songs, "Other friends" already became one of my favorite songs out of the movie.
The animation was on point here, especially loved the parts with Spinel and her moves. Speaking of
her, Spinel is such a tragic yet likable character, at first I was not sure what I should think of her, but
now I do like her a lot. And can I just say what kind of a ***** Pink was to her? Like wtf, I actually
liked Pink but what she did to Spinel was so messed up. Opal finally showing up again and sang was
one of the best parts, glad that she appeared since she barely shows up in the show. The only thing
I found kinda weird was Steg, like yeah, that's not how I imagined a Steven and Greg fusion tbh and
I saw at least 500 posts saying "Is this a Jojo reference???". I mean, I don't hate Steg, but he's not
my favorite fusion out of all. Also, kinda sad that Jasper didn't had a cameo at least. Hope she comes
back in the next season of the show.
Overall, very satisfied with the movie.

The movie was beautiful, and it kinda put into perspective how much of a selfish person Pink Diamond was, even if it was unintentional. We seen in Jungle Moon how much of a brat she was and I think what she done to Spinel solidified this.
Lets not forget though that she was in a house full of neglect and abuse though. In turn, the other Diamonds are held to a degree of responsibility for her behaviour.
I'm excited to see what Season 6 has in store. Its definitely coming, but when we don't know.

i watched it and i cried. it was such a good movie! animation and all! i was actually about to forgive pink diamond but she decided to pull this. the fact that poor spinel was left for dead, giving her false hope for 6,000 years only for it to have it shatter to the ground just proves what a bad person pink diamond was.
on another note, the music was awesome! the diamond's song was adorable and their voices were simply angelic! "true kinda love" was in my head and when i heard it, i actually ascended. then again, with chance the rapper contributing to some of the songs, i didn't expect anything else.
as for the new fusion.. i definitely wasn't expecting it, although, it's quite a welcome surprise. not to mention, he looks so fricking cool! love the pompadour, the voice, everything! honestly, i kinda want to see him in battle, although the chances of that are pretty slim.
i only wish that there was more fusions and that jasper would have had a redemption. oh well, i guess it's back to hiatus for now.

I love Spinels character (despite the fact that this is like the third time I had to change a gemsona because a new gem was introduced and completely was not the same as my gemsona hahaha) and how cartoony she is. Eyes, gloves, pigtails, shoes, ect... I loved her movements, expressions, squeaky shoes and attitude, both as the villain and when she reverted/also in the flashback. I 100% do not blame Spinel for lashing out because when you really think about it, it is SO messed up what Pink did. Yes Pink is a brat and she's bad, but just r e a l l y think about what she did.
Spinel was created FOR Pink for entertainment to keep Pink occupied. However Pink still wanted a colony, she's still acting as a stubborn child. We can see she starts getting annoyed with Spinel but Spinel is too persistent to let up, because she can't, she was made for that. Pink tries to leave Spinel while Spinel clings on to her. Seeing she won't let go and leave her alone, Pink uses Spinels purpose of entertainment and fun against her. She tricks Spinel into playing the stand still game, then wraps IN FRONT OF SPINELS FACE, back turned so she can't see her. Honestly it would have been more messed up had Pink stared at her as she warped away. Poor Spinel doesn't deviate from her purpose until the transmission featuring Steven 6,000 year later. I mean I honestly expected Spinel to become corrupted a few times in the movie.
However there are some inconsistencies.
Where did Spinel get the injector? Why does she know how to control it? Where did she gets the scythe from? How did she get OFF of the garden? Also, Spinel seems pretty well to in terms of fighting. She knows that if she makes body parts bigger, she can cause more damage, and that she can use her own body as a weapon of sorts. She seems strong, maybe not super strong as some of the other gems, but she does keep her own in a fight for a good amount of time. Why would a jester-y gem need to be strong? If her sole purpose is entertainment, she easily could have been made weak, like typical Pearls or lower level gems. Unlike our Pearl who became stronger, Spinel wouldn't have had any sort of training to become stronger.
That aside, I do like Steg, he seems really cool. The Diamonds, eh, I feel like they're now a gag of sorts, maybe uts because they recently changed and we havent seen them in this new personality but still idk. I don't blame Pink for distancing herself!! Stinks that Spinel was left alone for 1000s of years, but Rebecca said herself that Spinel is toxic. As a jester, Spinel should've been created to entertain a court when they needed her, not to be at Pinks side constantly. I blame the other diamonds who made her. You can't force people to be friends

Oh, this changes my perspective of her slightly, Rebecca Sugar saying she's toxic. But it's still kinda sad, as far as we know, Spinel didn't entertain a court, just Pink. We never saw any silhouettes of gems in Pink's court (Idk where people get info on what Rebecca Sugar says. I honestly get most of my thoughts from my interpretation of the series/shows and what my friend says).
I agree, amazing voice acting, loved Other Friends, love that the black lines going down her face look like make-up tears.
