Basically, since masons are an un-ccable role, it's in your best interest to let an unclear die at night. So by having 2 people claim mason who aren't mason, and ask for an NL, the best play would be to not claim and claim the next day, and figure it out there.

Setting up for the best possible play, and it not happening is fine, it's mafia.

But obviously I'm going to go for the optimal line instead of not doing anything at all?
