Mafia TBT Mafia III: The Murder Before Christmas [Game Over/Town Win]

Just wondering, how will you tell if you're role-blocked? Will you get a PM?

The way I did it is, if you had an ability and was going to use it, you will get a PM informing you. Otherwise, you will hear of nothing. The roleblocker will not get any feedback.

Can one mafia member send in multiple hits in a night, rather than each person sending one in?

We're definitely going to discuss this today. I wanted to bring this up to Tom but I think he's still sleeping. Any changes will be told to the Mafia in the Mafia chat or via Role PM.

At the moment assume that each individual member has to send in one KP (for the number of KP that they have). So if your KP is 3, then 3 different members have to send in one KP each (along with any other actions they can do). Again, if we decide to change it up we'll let the Mafia know in the Mafia Chat or via PM when the roles are given out.

Will a person protected by medic(s) be told how many hits they were saved from that night?

No. They will only be told when a hit is successfully prevented, not how many number of hits were prevented.

They will get a PM telling them their action was roleblocked. If they do not have a night action or did not use it, then they will not be told anything. The roleblocker will not know if they were successful though (will not receive a PM stating it).

Please inform everyone, this information is of use to town.

Not to answer question with a theory, but I think that roles are decided through random computer generation, non?

How is it useful? You won't know who sent the PM either way as that would clearly be telling everyone who Mafia is. I don't see how it makes a difference knowing how many different people are sending in a PM with a KP in it.

So excited for the game to start. Are the roles planned or no?

It's mostly going to be randomly assigned. From there, we are hoping to balance the players between Town & Mafia though, so that's where we might interfere and put our hand in to switch things up. We want both sides to have leaders so that neither side are too lost in the game. No guarantees but we will also try to switch some roles up (especially if you've already been Townie two times in a row).

If you're asking whether the roles are done yet .. no. =P We're doing them today and it shouldn't take very long at all.

A scum team that has to send in individual kills will need to be more coordinated than a team that that can simply nominate one person to send in the kills. This is information that can be useful to town.

Okay. You should try to make everyone's role different than the last game. They don't have to be Mafia/Assassin, but just a different role.

They still have to be more coordinated regardless. They have to all decide on the information that the one person is sending in. As they would if individual Mafia members were sending it in. It really doesn't make a difference.

It does make a difference, especially if actions cannot be withdrawn and changed. A late action play has far better chance of success if three players have to individually send in their kills, as opposed to one skilled "leader" who can call the shots with more effectiveness.

Then just inform the town anyway.

That's actually a stupid and terrible idea.
If someone was a townie last game, the mafia would know that the player would now have a blue role.

Unless they are Mafia or Assassin. No one knew who was who last game, why should it be different now? They can go up and down roles or switch sides. There's no chance of everyone being on the same side.

Night actions aren't limited to the Mafia. It can easily be the Paramedics / Vigilante holding up the night (as it was the case last game). You're thinking way too much into this for no reason.

Yeah I guess I'll have to since he's making such a big deal about it.

This is a straight up ******** idea. If I'm bluesniping and I see someone I'm not sure if they are a Hatter or Vet, all I have to do is check last game. Oh look, they were Hatter in that game. Now I'm even more sure they are a Vet and it's a big AVOID AVOID AVOID.

That brings up even more scenarios where it could be a terrible idea. They roleclaim townie? Oh, we know they're not a townie, they were last game. Why would they hide something unless they were mafia or assassin? Let's lynch them!

Yay! So glad I can play! ;w; I will not spill any info after I die this time! Can't wait til it starts : D

Also get ready for the-
RHwQBU.gif

And mafia night Wednesday!!

If we did chosen roles everyone would know my role lol People would know lots of other roles if they just looked at past games, since most people playing are previous players..

Sorry, guys, it was a stupid idea. But I still think the roles should be chosen carefully so half the Townies don't end up being Townies again.
