Mafia TBT Mafia XI: Person of Interest END

What's the point of playing to win if you hurt people's feelings? :/

I doubt it will hurt their feelings if they're showing no interest in the game whatsoever. If being lynched is something that'll hurt their feelings then they shouldn't have signed up in the first place. "Mafia is not for the faint-hearted or overly emotional."

Oops, I was beaten to it.

Not everyone feels they have a choice~

Depends who you ask, Oath.

You're hurting my feelings, Jen. I like you, I really do. You're very sweet. But as you've said before, this really isn't the game for you. I think you should start considering our reasons for why we do some of the things we do before refuting it as "unfair". If niceties and fairness were a reason to keep people alive in mafia, I would've lived through more than I did. The simple fact is that we don't care how people are outside of the game, we just don't, so long as we're playing the game.

Well, it's not just a game for some people and I will never think of it in that mindset. The game would be a lot nicer if it wasn't for that and considering how the games rarely even stay in their own thread (in fact, look how much you guys constantly bring past game stuff to a new game), people end up getting hurt even outside said game.

What I really think should change is how "unfairness" and being excessively harsh is the norm versus actually caring about people.

But past stuff from old games helps us find traits that people have in current games.

Then those people should not be playing either. It's been clearly stated in the opening posts that we play to win and if you're going to take things too seriously, you should not play.

Again, it's not like I'm here because I want to be.

But not everyone played those past games and people can change.

I really don't get this.
Pofer has shown 0% interest in this game, so why would it hurt their feelings if we lynched them?

But we aren't being excessively harsh because this is a game.

If we use your reasoning, video games that involve violence should be about throwing cupcakes and rainbows at opposing people - not killing people with guns, etc.

Okay/?? What's your point here?

Just seems very weird to judge some people on one thing and other people on other things and then have no frame of reference at all for those who are new. It'd just be nicer if people were looked at the same versus so much comparing to the past.

I really don't get this.

It was more of a general statement. I'm saying the reasoning being given isn't very good IMO and could end up hurting someone's feelings if they were actually interested and wanted to try.

Some people are.

That would be beautiful.

I was pointing out the fact that I didn't have a choice whether I signed up or not.
Yes, but we were talking about Pofer who was 100% free to avoid mafia and not join. Not everyone makes deals (or whatever it was) with the host and feels they have no choice to play. c:

I was pointing out the fact that I didn't have a choice whether I signed up or not.

I thought we were discussing Pofer...? xD Pointing that out was not really relevant to our current discussion.

I was just saying not everyone felt they had a choice. We don't know their reasons, maybe they wanted to, maybe they did something with a friend. I'm just using myself as proof as that not everyone signed up because they wanted to XP

Can we please all switch our votes to Jennifer? She's a huge distraction, and imo, much worse than Pofer. All she's done this game is criticize the way we play the game and waste space.
