i'm 100% this is a joke and you know it. i'd like to remind you did the same thing to crystal when you were scum. but i'm probably overthinking this. @_@..

Sorry for arriving a bit late to the party - I had a massive power outage that lasted for many hours due to unruly thunderstorms outside. Now that the power's back on I've read through the thread. These are things that stood out to me:

In most cases I find the No Lynch route to be rather foolish, but I can see the value of it in this particular game since even if an inactive player will add no value to town we could now at least take their mask and use it ourselves, keeping it in circulation. If we lynch someone today their mask would be lost forever.

Furthermore, I want to ask the players that feel a little bit uncertain of what they are doing to NOT steal masks from players that they consider strong, unless they find them very suspicious in which case just go for it! I feel that if all of Towns active and sharp players can obtain a powerful mask each, we'll be in a very great position.

Tsundere claims openly to have a useless mask without any real reason or tactical advantage (provided that she spoke the truth), which seems like a massive blunder in my eyes since those masks are exactly what you would want Mafia to steal since it would not give them any additional powers.

As for Ryan88 - I will be honest and admit that I think he's one of the weakest Mafia players on TBT simply because people constantly give him little pointers and advice, ask him to defend himself properly, and give him the benefit of the doubt a lot, and yet he never follows suit. But this is a PMs-Allowed game which means that someone could take him under their wing and attempt to mentor him. If Ryan himself would be interested in something like that, and shows a willingness to learn, then maybe it's best to No Lynch today - But otherwise maybe we should just remove him from play. We might lose a powerful mask in the process, but we would have a chance to get scum right away if we're lucky, and even if he is town at least his mask could not be stolen and used by scum either.

Okay, I really want a No Lynch so I'm going to fight for this.

No Lynches are so much better than just randomly lynching someone or lynching someone because you think they won't be a help later on in the game is not the best way to go. What we choose to do now will affect how the game turns out in the end. Doing all these easy lynches now won't help us later as it just gets us to lower our own numbers. I am going to continue to refer to Olympus Mafia as the best example because just look at how that game is turning out.

Same thing goes for Pleasure Cruise. If we had done a No Lynch on a day where we were completely clueless, we wouldn't have been stuck between a rock and a hard place at the end. Yes, we could find mafia through randomly lynching, but if we don't it hurts us in the end.

No Lynch is the best option especially for a game with a 15-hour Day One and with steal-able roles.

You'll need better defences than that.

This is why I'm kind of with Elise. Cap does this all the time. She waits until she has to respond, and when she does her defenses are usually one-liners. Almost all of her posts are.

Cap I flash my arse defending you because you hadn't posted and you come out with that crap, now I don't defend elise for calling you out but Christ you were called out bloody defend yourself "this is my play style" doesn't god damn cut it, ash is right it sucks now change it. I'll say the same to you, put some effort in, that was your first post of the day and it was pitiful.

This makes me think what if she has a very powerful mask. She says she has a useless mask but she could only say that so nobody tries to steal it. It's just a thought and a good possibility.

sure. someone can mentor me

I personally would very much like to see SuperPenguin mentor you, if he's willing to do so. I feel like he could teach you a lot, and that he may have the patience to keep at it even if the road ahead will be a struggle sometimes. It'd also be good to know who is mentoring you openly in case you end up doing weird things later on in the game - Then we know who to blame for it, and it'd be harder for Mafia to take advantage of this opportunity!

This is what newbie mafia is for... He's joined a main mafia with barely any knowlage from what you're saying.

I don't teach.

If he wants a mentor, he should play Newbie Mafia.

True, but he's here right now and if some is willing to mentor him, why not? I mean, I guess I'd be willing to help him but I'm not the best choice for a teacher.

You could mentor him yeah, say you're town.. Theoretical, and he's mafia.. That's a **** fest in itself, it doesn't work, I thought about coaching in frozen mafia but it's just not ideal.

I'm really tired of "oh they almost barely kinda want to improve, they deserve a chance now.". If someone wants to improve, this isn't the way to do it, and it doesn't mean we should ignore them because they claim that they'll try.

That is exactly what I am saying. Personally I think Ryan88 should've played a few more Newbie Mafias before he stepped in to this game, but that's not my decision to make of course. I worry that if we leave him without a mentor and thus unchecked, he will only cause distractions and confusions for everyone later in the game, and essentially help Mafia out more than town regardless of alignment.

However, the fact that Ryan himself is willing to accept a mentor does imply that he might be innocent, since I reckon his Mafia buddies would try to provide him with guidance otherwise. That alone makes me think he'll flip green if we lynch him, and that makes it seem like quite a poor decision, wouldn't you agree?

So since Natty just offered to show him the ropes, I think we should let her. She will get a better read on Ryan just by talking to him a lot and thus he'd be less likely to be able to slip by if he's in fact scum regardless, so his Mafia buddies would likely not be thrilled about the situation either. And if Ryan does odd things later, we know who to hold accountable.

It's not logical though? Read my last post..

And you agreed with me saying he doesn't know anything about the game, newbie mafia was made to help people who don't know the game. We shouldn't have to deal with this crap in both main and mini. Learn the game or don't play the bigger games with experienced players..?

but what does newbie do? It's the same.

Newbie is for new people that don't know the rules

This is main, main is experienced players that know the game.

Jfc, I can't even. Seriously, it's not the same? Hence why we can't play newbie, new players and a select few who need a little more help.

I personally believe Ryan is town, so if we HAVE to lynch then I don't want to lynch him. Like Sataric said, Natty can go ahead and mentor him if she wants to. I feel like the best option for him would be to get a player out of the game to coach him, however I doubt Oath would allow that.

But I honestly agree with Nick(Superpenguin) - I really doubt that we will lynch scum with one of the inactives. I know I used to be up for lynching day 1 in past games but at least after night we will have a better idea of whos scum thanks to deaths and DT reports. It's never really worked. But I guess lynching a townie will give us a bit of information (ex who jumped on the bandwagon very fast) but that isn't that much either. I'm going to hold off on voting for now though. (Tom wants me to vote Cap but im not gonna listen 2 tommy!)

but what does newbie do? It's the same.
It's games meant for newbies, meaning you play with people like you who are inexperienced. Main and mini mafias are more serious and focused (most of the time) so they require more experienced players and more of an effort.
