Mafia TBT Mini Mafia [Game Over/Town Win]

Anyway, I just wanted to just try something new and see how it played out.

The problem with this is .. how can you trust Superpenguin so easily to want to start playing this game with him? What makes you think he is Town and not Mafia? Why Superpenguin of all people? Have you two ever been in contact in any other games before to lead you to want to trust him this game?

This seems more like you are Mafia and wanted to interfere with Town to see how it played out.

You should ask yourself this question:

If BBG were town, why does he need a new strategy?

I've never seen BBG struggle at all in any of the past games. His old strategy which did not involve stating his own suspicions or using PM circles worked fine for him and even if he were blue, I'd imagine he would be smart enough to continue with that strategy, because he somehow always avoided being targeted from either side. Since he did switch up his gameplay strategy, I consider this a case of him being on the mafia side for the first time and feeling inclined to play the game differently.

You have a good point there. The question didn't even cross my mind. *facepalm*

If nothing new surfaces by the end of today, I'll put my vote in~

I hadn't thought of that (maybe because I've only participated in 1/3 of the main games so far). I looked up his roles and when he died for anyone who is in the same boat as me. BBG's roles to date have been:

Game 1: Veteran (killed night 3)
Game 2: Townie (modkilled day 5)
Game 3: Townie (killed night 3)

I've looked back at the last few pages. Here are my thoughts.

1) 3DSFan wins the Golden Globe for Worst Defense. I didn't see the point in half of his posts, and I thought he was joking. You point me, River (who's not even playing) and Lunatic with no evidence.

2) BBG, why are you switching to a new tactic when the old one worked great? Not stating suspicions would be a great strategy for both Town and Mafia, so I see no point. Why did you change your strategy?

3) I don't even get why I'm suspected. I'm usually active and most of the posts were in pre-game. Don't make the Dolby/Beary lynch, my number of posts shouldn't be surprising.

BBG: I'm still slightly suspicious of you. Like I said before, you could be mafia and made a move you were unsure of, and used this sentence: as a cover up to make it seem like you're a townie trying a new strategy. With all that said, I'm starting to loose my suspicion of you.

Is anyone else at a loss of who to vote for? I haven't seen anyone or anything that looks suspicious—we just jeep going back to square one.

Oh hey it's some trademark scummy contradictions plus wishywashiness all rolled into one post.

Allow me to translate this: "I'll vote for him if my team can't put forwards another suspect"

Although I think BBG has made some good points, and I'm certainly less suspicious of them now than I was to begin with, they are still the most suspicious player as of tonight's posts. We can't expect a 100% accurate day one lynch because most of the time there's not much to go on, so the most we can do is decide on the most suspicious player and lynch them instead =/ It's a tough call to make.

I just can't get my head around PMing someone who you've never really had much correspondence with (as far as I'm aware) about your suspicions in Mafia if you can't be sure they're town. The only way you can be sure that you won't get night killed for voicing those suspicions is if you already knew the innocents and scum, and the only way you could possibly know that is if you were indeed said scum. So as it stands, that's where my vote will lie.

And someone please shout at 3DS before I seriously lose my temper with them.

I was genuinely unsure of who to vote for. We do have to vote if we don't want to get modkilled, correct?

I mentioned this myself earlier and stand by it. It makes no sense.

Yeah I posted it originally HERE and I've been thinking about it for hours and still can't figure out any sort of logic behind that game plan whatsoever.

The immediate reasoning I jump to is that they're mafia and want to secure the trust of a town member quickly. They know SP is a strong player (when playing town - he's a disgrace as mafia (sorry babe, but you know it's true ;))) so he'd be a good target.

For a town player a logical explanation could be that they want to start a PM circle nice and early. The only fault with that, of course, is that BBG did it too early - and in addition to that he mentioned directly to the person he was trying to appeal to that he was afraid of appearing suspicious. That in itself is suspicious.

I think it's great to start a PM circle to establish trusts and such, but launching straight into a suspects post without even TRYING to assess what team they're on is a little odd. I wouldn't want to launch straight into a FOS without knowing if they're mafia or not in case you say FOS the god father and they night kill you because of it before you can even get your point across.

It's not the PMing, it's the way that BBG used it straight off the bat.

Kippla, in Game 3 we had a PM exchange and you said "I wouldn't reply if I was Mafia (probably would slip up)." I have sent you a PM. It has been 13 hours or so since then and I receive nothing from you. Can you explain this? You were online after I PMed you so that's no excuse.

I found no reason to reply. You lied to me in Mafia III, why should I reply to you now with the questions on you? That's a different game under an entirely different matter; what I said then does not apply now.

You weren't asking me to discuss with you, you were only telling me something.

So you say it before and it doesn't matter now? How are the two games different besides different roles? How are you so sure I'm lying this time?
i PMed SP and I never direcly told him to discuss with me, and he replied.
Maybe by different game, you possibly mean different role side. Were you possibly told to not reply because you were prepared for accusations?

You're the only one who's PMed me so far. It was under the circumstance of an alliance you wanted, and I replied because I believed you were Town. Following that, I said what you are trying to convict me off of. Now, you PM me about what you PMed SP about me and the post he made. I didn't need to reply to this because there wasn't a reason to. Give me reasons why I should've PMed you back.

BBG, this looks like a desperate attempt to direct attention onto me. I didn't need to know about your "plan", and when you sent me that, I didn't see SP's post until later. What I said then was about a different subject, why would it matter?

Seeing as I'm going to be lynched, I'm going to go ahead and roleclaim as Townie. I was quite sick of getting it for the third time in a row but I wanted to say it since everyone is suspecting me.

That's exactly what I thought when reading his post about PM'ing you. The point that he was desperate is furthered by this:
Seeing as I'm going to be lynched, I'm going to go ahead and roleclaim as Townie. I was quite sick of getting it for the third time in a row but I wanted to say it since everyone is suspecting me.

Wouldn't it be very easy for a mafia to just type in "hey, I'm a townie!"? I mean, lol. I've made my decision for who to vote for.

@Karla: I know you would just love to rip me a new one since I'm voting before I originally said I was so I will tell you why I am: Basically, I see no one else more suspicious than BBG, and I won't be able to post until Tuesday because I'm heading over to my sisters tonight, to help clean up their new house her and her fianc? are moving into (Which doesn't have Wi-fi, so can't use my iPad, unfortunately.) and won't be heading back home until early Tuesday. So yeah, you won't be hearing from me for a while.

@Lunatic
You don't have to believe me, just know that you'll be wrong when I get lynched. Wouldn't it be very easy for ANYONE to just type in "hey, I'm a townie!"? I mean, lol.

So if I take Karla, a very experienced player. and have him roleclaim as Townie, would that make him believable more easily? Would he be suspected? It's more of giving an honest answer.
