I've been considering leaving the forums for a while now, and yesterday I finally made the decision to act on that. My decision is largely based on personal reasons. I've been unsure about this for a long time, but I decided that if I've been considering it for so long, it probably means I'm ready to move on. I thought I'd explain why I'm leaving as I want to end on a positive note.
A small factor in my departure is the way certain members have been treating others. Again, if you're confused as to who I'm talking about, you have nothing to worry about. I just ask that those members would please show everyone some respect, because no one deserves to be treated the way the people you targeted were. Please don't think this is a major reason I'm leaving.
Another reason I'm leaving is that I just need some time to think everything over. I won't go into details but I'm dealing with some personal issues right now and it's changed the way I view life (even if that sounds very clichéd).
I feel like this has been really negative so far, so it's time for a little good news. I'll be around the forums for the rest of the day and I'll be giving away all my bells and collectibles - some to close friends and some to randomly selected people. After all, I don't need them anymore. I'll even try to find some more eggs around the forum so I can buy a Yoshi egg to give away. Also, I'll give a couple of things away to people of my choice who I don't necessarily know. There are a lot of users I've never spoken to before, but I've seen users around the forums and I can tell that there are many amazing people out there. The amount of selfless and kind-hearted people around this site is phenomenal. I can't possibly give you all a gift, but a lot of you definitely deserve one.
A small note to my Camp NaNoWriMo cabin mates: I hope you don't mind me staying in the TBT cabin until the end. I've had a lot of fun so far and I love how we can all support each other to the end.
I think that pretty much wraps things up here. If you're someone I talk to regularly, I'll most likely contact you personally about my decision to leave, and whether you want to say in touch (because there are people I'd like to continue talking to). If anyone else would like to keep in contact, please let me know. If I think of anything else I'd like to say publicly, I'll comment below.
I've had an amazing time here, and I'm so glad I came across these forums over seven months ago. Some of you have really helped me get through some dark times in my life and I can't thank you enough. In future, I may log on every now and again to see how you're all doing. Whether you're my close friend or you've read through this blog entry and wondered who I am, I hope you continue to enjoy these forums as I have done. I wish you the best of luck in the future.
