the 10 villager limit is starting to bother me

i've been cycling villagers in and out since i've got this game and now i've managed to get 10 villagers i want to keep

now i want lily or ellie but i have nobody i'm willing to get rid of

nintendo really needs to raise the villager limit, like have tom nook let u buy more house plots, so u don't have to have more villagers but the options there if u wanted
and if u want to remove a plot u can move out a villager the ask tom nook to demolish the plot

The thing is I think for the size of the island, 10 is a suitable limit (for me, at least). BUT, I think it would've been so cool if the island was made to be larger, so that you could invite like 15 villagers because I do agree that I always feel like "Ugh, if I just had a bit more room!" I was hoping the islands and villager limit would've expanded, but maybe in the next iteration (really hoping we won't stay at 10 villagers forever).

I agree with this, for ages I had 10 villagers I really liked and thought they were all going to be permanent but then I realised there were a lot of other villagers that I wanted to try on my island (and get photos off) but each time a new villager that I like moves onto my island I find it so hard to let them go. Its so hard deciding who should stay and who I'm happy to let go off, would be much easier if there were more then 10 plots so I could keep all the villagers that I loved ❤

Agree with @Matt0106 though - I'm redoing my island currently and found it hard enough finding somewhere for all 10 villager houses that I was happy with so think I'd struggle with any more plots, a second island would be quite handy for this.

Also I really like your current villagers - especially Judy and Raymond, they're on my island and will probably never leave.

i have a few spaces idk what to do with atm, so i might have enough room for another few houses

but i also wouldn't mind the island being a bit bigger since i love decorating so much

If we had more villagers, they’d be so similar in dialogue and it would just seem a little... off, I guess? That being said, adding a new personality type would be great to add some more variety into the game.

I also agree with what was said above— I feel like there’s not enough room on the island for more than 10 villager homes, especially for those of us who add extra players to the island whose houses take up a lot of room. But that’s just my take on it! there definitely are a ton of good villagers out there but personally I'm fairly happy with 10 villagers! it probably helps that I only have one set dreamie (at least for now) so I have 9 spots I'm perfectly happy to rotate, even if sometimes I get immediate regret when I let someone move lol. if we had another two potential villager spots my neighbourhood area would be perfectly balanced but that's really only a small complaint

Here's something you may not know. Back in the original Animal Crossing on GameCube you used to have 15 villagers living in your town. Wild World it was changed to 8, but when City Folk came it was pushed up to 10 and it has been the same since then. Yes even in New Leaf you were only allowed to have 10 villagers in your Town.

You’re gonna have to teach me your organizational skills lol— I’ve got 5 houses at the moment, and I sometimes feel suffocated while walking around my island

I’d love to see Nintendo’s take on personalities shared between villagers— they could be really similar, but different enough to give us some interesting variety!

a lot of stuff on my island is just pretty close together yet far apart enough to walk around, i can't explain lol
u can check my DA on my profile if u like, but there's only 3 player houses on it since i've only just added the 4th today

but yeah, more personalities or shared personalities would be amazing and nintendo's gotta start working on that

Agreed! Considering how many extra players we're allowed, it would be great to have the ability to purchase more plots. Make them optional for people who don't want more, perhaps even allow those houses to be torn down (when villagers leave and the plot is empty). I'd also love to suggest setting how many human players are allowed homes, and let the others be the villagers (for people who only have one or two characters they play as). Just have a max number of houses in general.

I'd prefer a new female and male personality type first, but I understand the desire for more homes as well. Personally I find the lack of a punk or loner personality for the males rather jarring with how many rock band punk looking male villagers there are. But nope, Roscoe and Cyd talk like they are old men while dressed like rebels. And Kyle and Jacques talk like feminine rich boys while living like poor musicians.

I want more villager spots more than anything else in the game. If they said you can have villagers but never get another update again I would take that trade happily. Personally I only have and want one to two playable characters on my island so I do feel like I could fit more villagers fairly easily (since in theory you can fit up to 18 houses - 10 villagers and 8 playable). I think it would mean sacrificing decorating space, but I would be okay with that. It would be nice for it to be optional I think, since not everyone is me, (and ideally even better if they could allow you to remove plots) but it is the feature I dream of most.

Oof, this is would be so nice.. I'm constantly cycling through around 6 villagers as well. There are 4 currently who i will never get rid of.

I like most, have many villagers that I would love to have on my island. There are just too many cuties.

I have to talk to them every time I load the game, OCD.

They really need to have the limit optional.

u wouln't even have at least 8 villagers, 1 for each personality

to be fair, i only talk to the same few villagers most the time and that's if i happen to walk past them lol

I ignore them all mostly, because they constantly dump items on me after asking if I want the item, and me saying NO.

It pisses me off, so when they come up to me, I shut the game off.

I'm just a walking trash can to them.
