the 10 villager limit is starting to bother me

yeah they give out lame stuff tbh, but that's part of the game i guess so i just accept it and sell it to nooks

I would love to be able to have more villagers. There is some great villagers. It’s to bad you can’t have a couple more villager plots instead of playable characters. You can make 8 characters and I know I won’t make more then two on either or my islands. I would love to use those plots for villagers instead.

It feels so awkward to have my island be twice the size of my New Leaf town, with FEWER permanent buildings, but still have the same number of villagers. There’s so much empty space. I was so excited for the new game where we would beyond a doubt have a higher villager cap, but nope! Because the point of this game is placing furniture outdoors.

Not exactly on topic but I kind of wish the number of villagers in town should fluctuate a bit more rather than always needing to be at max and have someone fill in the last slot right away, just for variety. I feel a bit of anxiety after someone leaves because I know that if I don't act quickly I might end up with someone I hate lol. Normally I let it play out anyways but...

I can relate to you. But when Judy did it, I decided to be nice and give her a gift of the same item, and she gave me her photo

I agree if its optional. Even to the point of getting rid of a plot all together if you want.
I understand that multiple people can play on an island and that takes room but not everybody plays the game with thier siblings if they even have any. I assume tgats why the limit is ten.
For those who play alone, we should have the option of additional villagers which will help the island feel like its growing into a town from nothing. Options are nice and it can come in handy if you have a few dreamies from the same personality type you cant choose between.

It doesn't bother me, but I do wish I could have a few more. Maybe 12 or 15.

I was thinking maybe having an apartment rather than individual houses so it saves space. Villager houses are basically a single room anyway.

Im the opposite. I really wish they could let us pick to have fewer villagers. I think I would Be fine with 9.

They done it before in the original AC on GameCube where it used to be 15.

I feel the same way, I have 10 villagers that I want to keep, but I want like 2-5 more to rotate and then eventually decide to keep lol. I have a "natural-looking" villager aesthetic (I LOOOVVVEEE Chrissy and Francine, but alas, they don't fit my aesthetic). I would love to have my 10 be that theme, then 5 that I could have be fantastical - yes. Yes indeed.

I would love to go back to 15 plots. Likely would use them to cycle out more villagers at a time though, if not, have more than a few permanents.

I agree that there definitely needs to be the option for more villagers based on the huuuuge islands that we have. Personally I think 12 would be a good number without it being too overwhelming.

i’m with you omg. there’s so, so many villagers that i love and would love to have but the limit makes that impossible . in regards to an increase, i’m not even asking for a huge one; just having it bumped up to 11 or 12 would be enough to appease me a bit.

I think it would be nice to have a couple more. I think 15 might be too much for me personally (and with the current size of our island) but sometimes I wish I could have 12. Just two more, and then I could round out my personality types (I don't have enough room for a smug villager on my island at the moment) and also have one more cranky villager which I would like! I think 12 isn't such a crazy amount either that they would need to give us vastly bigger island in order to make room. Sure, I might have to shuffle around my current island a little bit but I could find room for 12 villagers. Everybody will just have to have smaller yards, lol.

It would be nice if, in the future, as the game gets bigger our villager amount could increase too! But I don't think that we should have to have that max amount of villagers either. People shouldn't be forced to find extra villagers or get potentially stuck with random move ins/other players voided villagers, it should be entirely optional. Because while I would love to have 12 villagers I can totally see why somebody else may only want 8 - just one of every personality type, or maybe even less, because then they would have more green space to develop their islands how they want.

I want more villagers too. I agree with the people who want to just put a cap on lots though and just let the player freely decide if they’ll use the lots for more characters or more villagers. I certainly won’t use up all 8 player houses and would much rather just have them allocated to additional villagers instead so I can make room for more of my faves.

10 is fine for me personally, but 12 also seemed like a perfect number.
I'm not sure if I would want more repeat personalities though

It doesn't make sense to me that I can have multiple player houses but not extra villager houses. Once, I had 3 players and 10 villagers and I know of people having more players, each with a house.

Now I just have 1 player and definitely enough space for a couple extra villagers.

I wish they made it so that there was a limit of, say, 15 houses and you could have a mix of player and NPC villagers in your 15.
