If he is scum he knows punchy is town, so he could be saying it like he's trying to get town cred if punchy flips town or trying to defend a scummate to keep him alive if punchy is scum. Maybe punchy is scum with ness and they are just giving up... maybe dedenne is their last one too and the mod kill just deflated the whole team. It is just like super weird especially since he hasn't really shown any interest in following up on this knowing this lynch would probably go through quicker
