I've heard that being abusive doesn't work. It makes them wanna stay. Something about wanting to be your friend, something like that.

I watched an experiment on it, and there's this friendship ladder from 1-7, 7 being giving you their picture, 1 being just saying random things to you.
After about a week, (or 4 days) you get off of that friendship ladder and they get sad and want to move.
Beating them makes them talk to you, which puts yourself back onto that friendship ladder.
