The downside to living with someone who plays - villagers through streetpass

My brother and I streetpass all the time, and I've gotten his last two villagers to move out (Muffy came through streetpass, I asked O'Hare to move in). I'm happy to have both of them in my town, but now Harry's in boxes in my brother's town, and I don't want him.

If I went over and talked to Harry until he asked to move to my town, then said no, would that stop him coming through streetpass?

...Just turn streetpass off until Harry is in the void. XD Or grab a villager that's okay and move them out.

I have 10 villagers, so I never have to worry about this. Good thing, too. e.e

If you want to be absolutely safe, wait a complete month. But if you're impatient like me, a week or so should be okay. XD

If you get your brother to giveaway Harry to someone else, he won't come to your town. All my residents seemingly cycle through one of my towns or my husbands, so I've started giving away the neighbors to avoid getting them again. It worked for Savannah!

Even if you don't like a villager, it's bound to be someone else's dreamy

I believe he just needs to streetpass or wifi with someone else once, then harry will move there or go into the void. but yeah, giving him away to someone is the best way to be sure you don't get him!

He's tried to sell him but so far no one's replied. Hopefully someone might reply within the next hour or so, otherwise it's hoping he streetpasses someone else or Harry disappears into the void

It depends on wether the person they wifi or streetpass with. If that person doesn't have an empty spot and then you wifi with your brother, you'll probably get Harry.

No, even if you talk to the moving villager and don' t invite him, he can still move to your town anyway. Not connecting via street pass isn't enough to protect yourself. In addition to turning off the street pass function, you need to stop visiting each other's towns when someone moved--unless you already have ten villagers.

I've had villagers that I specifically did not invite move into my village. I spoke to Antonio while he was packed up. He asked to move to my village and I did not invite him. He came anyway. And then when he left that village, he moved to my secondary village without being invited. It was impossible to get rid of him--I reset the town just to wipe him out.
