Results of FA Cup final: Arsenal Football Club won the FA Cup for the 14th time with a 2-1 scoreline.
Highlights:
- Christian Pulisic scored the opening goal of the game with just 5 minutes played after a good build-up between Jorginho, Mason Mount and Olivier Giroud. Chelsea FC continue to dominate posession.
- After water break, a fine long pass from Kieran Tierney found Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Chelsea's captain Cesar Azpilicueta was not able to cope with the speedy striker, comitting a foul that ended in the penalty box. A penalty is rewarded and Aubameyang slots in the goal smoothly by sending the keeper the wrong way. Arsenal FC ended the first half the better team with posession swung in their favour after the equaliser.
- Chelsea's captain Azpilicueta sustained an injury and was substituted off in the 35th minute, Andreas Christensen as replacement.
- Second-half underway with Chelsea looking the most dangerous and Pulisic making light of Arsenal's defenses.
- Christian Pulisic sustained an injury and was substituted off in the 49th minute, Pedro as replacement.
- A superb run through the middle of the field by Hector Bellerin was stopped by a great afford from Andreas Christensen only for the ball to fall on the feet of Nicolas Pepe, whom passed the ball to Aubameyang to slot home a world-class goal as well as the winning goal.
- Mateo Kovacic shown a second yellow card of the game and sent off with a red card. Poor decision from the referee after VAR showed that there were little contact to warrant a harsh second yellow. Commentators are fuming.
- The game ended with another injury in the form of Pedro.
