To be fair, it's like that with all holidays here in America. All the decorations start coming out months early, hell I saw actual Christmas (the presents and tree holiday, not the horror one that keeps getting corrected into xmas on this forum) decorations in stores just two months ago. People like decorating early...and leaving those decorations up for at least a month afterwards lmao
For me I love Hall0ween because I've always been a huge horror fan and it's the one day out of an entire year where you can wear whatever you want and act weird and no one judges you or makes fun of you. It's fun scaring your friends with (harmless!) pranks and going to haunted houses and such to get scared. When your of trick-or-treating age it's so great to be able to get (free!!) candy and allowed to eat it (some kids aren't allowed candy at all except for that one day a year) and when you grow out of that age you can have hall0ween parties with your friends and make horror drinking games etc. So yeah..it's just a really great holiday imo haha
I live in Canada, but it's relatively big here too, but I've never seen someone go so extreme as to decorate three months early.
Personally, I'm not a super religious person and I also really love food and I also love the scary, creepy, undead aesthetics, so a holiday that doesn't have a religious context (in modern day? Honestly so many holidays original contexts are so far removed from their current contexts, I wouldn't be surprised if it meant something totally different back in the day, I should really make a point to educate myself on the origins of The Day), and is heavily based on eating food and dressing up with creepy aesthetics, is great to me.
Pretty much I just love candy and I love costumes.
Or use a letter from a foreign alphabet that looks identical to the English alphabet. Hаlloween spelled with an a from the Russian alphabet works just as well.
Anyway. I've literally never seen anyone decorate for Halloweеn longer than a month in advance. Then again, most people don't decorate period here.
yeah i've never seen anyone set up decorations early either. i've never put up any decorations, except sometimes a jack-o-lantern because they're fun to carve and make. but i would say that, for the most part, Ha11oween is for kids, and for people who like costume parties...
Also I already am tempted to buy way too much candy, but I know none of it will last until Halloween so I'm holding off... for now. But once I see those Reese's Ghosts I will become too weak, and have to buy all of them.
