➹ The Hunger Games ➹ STARTED

(I was high up in the tree when I threw the snowball, not in bushes...)

Lucas watched as the girl talked with a boy in some trees, and barely heard what they said. He wondered why he seemed so cocky... He didn't kill her, and he seems so cocky, like he knows he doesn't have to kill her. He must be one of those 'career' guys. And when there's careers, there's bound to be a camp or something. Which means he can't have strayed too far... I might just be able to get a fire after all, he smiled to himself gleefully, as he shoved all the fruit into one basket. He plucked out a banana, and ate it, which helped stifle his hunger, but he was still thirsty. In the other now empty basket, he slowly compacted snowballs and piled them up in it, so he wouldn't make an obviously dug up area on the ground. When that was done, he put the knife in his pocket, climbed down, and snuck through bushes on the ground, being as quiet as possible. When he got in range of the District 3 girl, he grabbed the banana peel, reached his hand through the bush slowly, looking up to make sure he didn't see him, and plopped it behind the girl's feet, so when she'd turn around, she'd likely fall and see him. He knew this wasn't safe, but he needed an ally, and this girl would be good bait to go and collect some tools and matches or fire.

Zoraida's eye twitched a bit. It was reality pulling her back into this, telling her it wasn't just another training day. She ignored the feeling, trying to keep it cool; Zora in general wasn't the touchy feel-y kind, so she tried approaching the subject gently. "We've all made sacrifices, April. No one wants to be the government's pawn for this. We are just victims part of a gross scare tactic by the capitol to keep us in line." She said while staring straight ahead. Zoraida breathed in a deep sigh; she knew the capitol probably filtered what she said so the viewers wouldn't be upset, but didn't care. "All we can do is do our districts proud. Fight with dignity and honor." Her final sentences trailed off into a low whisper, a momentary view at the vulnerable girl who laid buried under her charismatic ego. Standing up straight, Zoraida looked over at April and Silver. "We'll make it to the end, I know it. I don't care if I will have to die at my allies hands. Dying from the hands of loyalty is a death i'd have any day, over dying to some greedy mutts." She spat out the last part, with distaste in her mouth; the distaste partially from having gotten all mushy, but also referring to the lower leveled districts. Zora was taught all of them were selfish savages. To her they all posed a threat in ruining her perfect world, therefore they must be eliminated; note Zoraida wasn't eager to kill by any means, however, she gladly will if it ensured their safety.

(Pokemon5700 since you killed someone we can make it PacificMayorAlex's female char since I was gonna have her killed off anyway)
Silver looked at Zoraida. "I know I have no chance at winning, I just want to try... for my family, for my friends.." she trailed off. Silver wasn't acting like a real career right now, she was showing her real personality. Silver was nervously shaking and tearing up at the thought of not ever seeing her family again, she had to pull her crap together. She then wiped her tears and stopped shaking. "Eh I don't have to try, because I know I will win." she winked sarcastically telling Zoraida and April she was just kidding about thinking she'll actually win. Silver caught the sight of something out of the corner of her eye and turned to see a small deer covered in snow. "Be quiet." she whispered to Zoraida and April as she aimed the bow at the deer, she made her shot and hit it right in the stomach. "Bullseye! Now we've got some more to eat!" she smiled like a proud little kid as she said that, she imagining turning and seeing her father run to give her a hug because he was so proud, but then she cam bad to reality, her father was dead, and she was in the Hunger Games, not at home.

Talon looked at the girl and grinned. "I guess you don't understand, this a game, like the game of chess, or the game of checkers, and all games require good mental ability, and the ability to be able to outwit an opponent could just save your life, and I am not an assassin, I just love to play pranks on other tributes and them not to expect it, or be scared because they think a career is out for them, and I just don't value fighting, it's.. how do I say, a waste of time, besides it's not like we have our chances at winning, a career will win, so why waste your time now when you could be doing other things like enjoying nature or playing pranks on other tributes, which I see someone has played a few on gullible little you yourself." Talon smirked. "I'm also not cocky, well I may be a little, but that only comes to being smart, a lot of tributes must think I'm a career by the way I act, but I just m not caring about this, it will happen over and over where a group of 23 kids die with 1 victor, I'm okay with dying, because who would want to live in a society like this anyway, hell even if I never got reaped for the games, if I had children I would be worried for their safety, and even so who wants to go back to a district where all you have to do is work and try to get enough food and money for you and your family. It's crap, we're their little pawns, we work to give whatever the capitol wants." Talon saw the banana peel behind the girl and smirked. "Well I wish you luck." Talon climbed from tree to tree until he was out of the girl's sight.

"If this was like chess, everyone'd be pawns, and the careers would be rooks, bishops and queens and charge across the board to kick our faces off. Checkers is awful... and pranks? You do realise where you are, don't you? I'd prefer to scavenge. If I lose, I at least want a decent score before I get ganked by some stupid careers. Not to mention... gullible? How dare you?" She said, hopping between topics, in a half-assed attempt to respond to everything he said.. "Bye...?" She murmured quizzically as he left. What's his problem...? She sighed.

She spun on the heels of her mangled, shoes so covered in ice it hurt and gave her snow-blindness around, stepping on a banana's peel. Because she stepped directly on it, she didn't trip at all. "A... banana- wha-?" She broke her sentence up. Not even checking it for bugs or poison, she slowly ate the legs of the peel, stepping into the brush, glancing down to see what appeared to be a boy. Her eyes widened in expecting shock, as she attempted to ram the sticksicle into the boy, as more of a reflex than an actual reaction.

Talon was hoping to see the girl again, hoping she wouldn't be killed. She seemed nice, but didn't understand the importance of mental ability. She was also extremely gullible which wouldn't exactly help a person in these games.

Game makers: The night sky got dark and the seal of Panem appeared in the sky with the capitol anthem blaring, the faces of the D7 and D8 females and D10 male had shown in the sky. (Inactivity but we will just pretend they were killed for unknown reasons)

Lucas listened, and waited, and when the girl didn't trip, and instead ate the banana peel, he sighed, and grabbed the two baskets. Then... she stumbled through the bushes and in shock, tried to kill him. He dodged it, and watched as the sickle got caught in the branches and limbs of the bushes. He was inches from death, and his eyes widened in response; he slowly backed away in the bushes, dragging the baskets with him.
"I was trying to get your attention! Not kill you. I was going to ask if you wanted to be allies, and help each other? Since no one stands a chance against careers like that boy you just talked with, if we're all alone." He gasped for air, still shaking from almost being killed so easily. He put one hand in his pocket, getting ready if he had to pull out the throwing knife. If he had to fight her, he'd probably die, but at least he'd rough her up quite a bit.

Zoraida let out a confused grunt, swinging her pickax over her shoulder, she walked towards the deer to help lug it back. "Odd, I thought there were only small game here." Grabbing it by the neck, she ripped out the arrow and tossed it towards Silver. Slinging it over her back, she continued walking towards the cornucopia. "Please tell me you know how to gut this thing, Silver." As she dragged the deer behind her, it left a somewhat bloody trail behind, tainting the snow. Zora would offer to help cook the deer, but she never had experience doing such commoner acts. Looking up, she saw more faces appear in the now pitch black night sky and grumbled to herself. "Yeah, yeah we get it. Shut it will you?"

Silver looked at the sky and did the math in her head as she sighed. "9 down, 15 of us left, how about in the morning we go and do some tribute hunting? We're bound to catch something." Silver looked at Zoraida and her carrying the deer, Silver walked with her, "Thanks for carrying it, I am not great with heavy things. Yes I do know how to gut it, no need to worry." Silver looked at the ropes. "Hey, do you know how to gut a deer possibly? Because I also remembered I have to make those nets too." She looked at the 2 nets that were already at the cornucopia and picked them up. "Surprised nobody picked these up."

Grinning, Zoraida chimed in. "Of course we are going hunting. I want these games over with as soon as possible. Let's squash their hope before we let it grow any more than it needs to." Zora was referring to the hope of the outer districts winning. Judging by the lot of them, most were nimble and had a small range of skills; if anything, they had to worry about their agility. Hopefully one of the foxes would make a mistake and fall into one of their traps. That would be interesting, indeed. Zoraida grunted as she shifted the deer slightly and nodding. "It's fine, it's a smaller one so the weight isn't unbearable." She snickered at the thought of her gutting a deer, out of all people upon hearing Silver ask. "I asked you for a reason, maybe April can gut it. You guys learn those type of things in District 2, right?"

"We are not terribly in need of food so I can gut it later don't forget we also have to gut the rabbit though, for now I will work on some nets." Silver grabbed a bunch of ropes and started tying them into a net with her delicate fingers. "Say which famous victors of the Hunger Games were your mentors this year?" Silver looked up at Zoraida. "I mean I would have to know them, we learned all about the Hunger Games in school."

Letting down the deer by the cornucopia upon arrival, she grabbed the dead bunny from Silver, tossing it ontop the deer. Zoraida spoke as she took the wood they had gathered earlier, forming it in a tent shape within the bare patch of grass. "I was fortunate enough to have the victor twins, Gloss and Cashmere." Zoraida smiled fondly at the thought of them while getting matches. "Dolls both of them were." Crouching down by the fire, she glided a match across the side with ease, lighting it. "Cashmere and Gloss were very charismatic, they were friendly but also stern. I didn't speak much to Gloss, they divided me and Ryuu up, but Cashmere was especially kind. I know most people think everyone from District 1 is fake, but we have kind hearts." Throwing the match into the wood, she cupped the fire allowing it to grow. "They maybe buried deep, but we all have to do things we don't want to, right? Give others the show they want, but that doesn't entail that, that's truly who you are." Zoraida stared at the fire, looking far away momentarily like she had prior. Jaw tight as if she was thinking of something painful, she shook her head and stood as the bonfire danced. "What about you? I'm sure training with that hunk Odair must have been enticing." Zoraida teased while looking over at Silver. "Unless you had someone else."

Her breath shaking, she placed a hand over her chest. "Heh... what...? That's not a very good way to catch anyone's attention... you looked like you were trying to kill me, I can't see you very well..." She left the sticksicle's sickle-blade in the brush, in an attempt to stop him from stabbing her, as she thought he would do. She swallowed as much due to thirst as the shock of the bush-residing man. she tried to catch her breath. "You... why would I...? Ally with you...?" She muttered, jolting awake as the shock wore off.

"Eh, well yeah I had Finnick but he's more of a fatherly figure to me."Silver thought of him. 'I knew him before the games though, I would always see him in town with Mags." she smiled at the thought of Mags. "What a nice lady, after my dad died her and Finnick sort of acted like a second family to me. They would always visit me, even though I already could tie nets, they taught me how to tie nets on another level, it is sort of why I am good at tying nets."

(Sorry I haven't been posting much, just busy and such)
Abram sighed with relief as he saw the tribute run away. He yawned, and stretched. "I could use the rest of that sleep," he mumbled, and started to walk toward another group of trees, and started to climb up one, unaware a D10 female was sleeping there. She was camoflauged, Abram not noticing her, and when he climbed up, he set his hand on her stomach, waking the girl. "I'm so sorry, I didn't know you were there!" he said in a blur

Zoraida raised her eyebrow. Any regular commoner getting close to a victor of that merit was surprising. What were the odds of a victor taking in someone who lost their family, when in many districts it was a common occurrence. Ignoring the prodding questions, she nodded. "That was awfully kind of him, but now you have to live up to those words; you better snag some tributes with those traps. If not that'll be disappointing." she sighed and fell onto her back, looking up at the artificial sky. Zoraida was getting bored now, she wanted to have fun already and make things interesting, but knew the party was to start tomorrow. "Who is gonna take first watch again? Was it April?" She asked to the artificial stars. Part of her wondered if her family back at home was watching, the other part of her knew they probably were too busy to notice. Would they be proud of me? Probably not.

"You're right, I can't disappoint them." Silver said. "You know, if I won these games my family would be able to eat and be healthy, and I could visit Finnick and Mags everyday, and it would just be great." Silver smiled thinking about it and then came back into reality, "April said she was going to take watch so I guess she will."

(Sorry I've been sort of inactive I have had lots of A level work)
Ryuu had suspiciously emerged from a snowy bush. He was very sloppily dressed and rustled his short black hair and grabbed his sickle confidently. "Jesus that took a long time... My head hurts... Ugh."
Alice felt winded waking up. "Ouch." She looked at the person a over her and whispered since there was two career tributes below them. "Sorry am I in your way?" She then looked down at the scene and giggled. That's a first for the hunger games.

Alice had been very curious as to the events that had unfolded below her on her tree branch, so she giggled to herself. "Oh my I think that's a first for the hunger games." She muttered to herself.

(Read my previous post please c: )

Abram chuckled nervously. "Not really, I was just climbing up this tree about to go back to sleep... The name's Abram, by the way," he said, grabbing onto a branch
