➹ The Hunger Games ➹ STARTED

As Talon crept around he heard what sounded like the munching of crackers above his head. He looked up to see another tribute. Talon didn't make a peep, he crept by the tribute slowly and quietly, then he quietly climbed a tree near the tree she was in without the girl knowing. He took a glance at her and it was the district 11 female tribute. In training she seemed very skilled so he was cautious. Talon picked up a rock and threw it at the tree she was in and made a loud noise, he quickly hid in the tree leaves unseen. He was waiting to see the girls reaction. He stood out of place where any projectiles such as an arrow could hit him. He saw the only weapon the girl had was a sickle just like his, so he was in no danger of projectiles. he still wanted to be cautious.

Zoraida paced around the cornucopia, making sure everything was perfect for her missing careers. She was anxious, constantly thinking of her teammates while they weren't there. She needed reassurance, anything; she felt her perfect illusion slipping and needed to grasp onto it. Get a grip of yourself. In order to stop thinking, she preoccupied herself with organizing what was left over. All large weapons were kept outside by the entrance, this was for them to grab on the go when going on tribute hunts. Knives and other smaller weapons were placed in corresponding piles, even going as far as to separate throwing knives and others. There was two large weapons and a few smaller ones placed in the back, incase they were to be cornered, for now they were wrapped with rope to protect others. All sleeping items and ones that can be of use in that field, were placed in the center in a pile, where they would sleep. Sleeping inside would be useful, protecting them from the elements. Lastly all food were placed in backpacks and water canisters placed in their own little corner stacked up. Just incase they needed to run off, a spare weapon and canister was placed in every backpack. Zora breathed a little sigh of relief seeing the faces in the sky. She knew the mouse couldn't cause that much harm, she felt bad momentarily to have doubted them. Of course they would be fine, they are careers. If they can't even manage that mouse, then they are expendable. Looking at the sky long after the faces disappeared, she couldn't help but ask herself, where the hell are you incompetent morons? They shouldn't have taken this long, it was frankly ridiculous.

Aldo had traveled far. He probably was somewhat near the outskirts and had no idea where the others were. It's been hours since he had seen any sign of a tribute, the only faces he's seen being brief at the bloodbath. Aldo had started getting into the deeper snow region, not very far though. In order to stay hydrated he munched on snow, water wasn't a big issue to him. Technically they were surrounded by it. Aldo had climbed a thick, well covered tree, sitting on the thick middle area branches. He leaned across multiple core branches, having found a safe nest that didn't require rope. Eating an apple that reminded him of home, he felt bitter sweet. He feared his tracks would attract others so he shook snow off the tree, having it fall covering most of his footsteps in the radius but not all. Watching the sky, he couldn't help but wonder and pray for the other tributes; some part of him hoped to see another tribute, but knew it would be for the best. He covered himself with his jacket, it was thick and would do for now. Having taken it off and putting it on backwards, it offered as a makeshift blanket, backpack supported on another branch. He left his spear hidden at the base under ALOT of snow, hoping for the best. Aldo wasn't too far from the base, so getting down would be too much of a hassle.

((sorry for garbage Aldo post, i'm kinda squeezed right now due to alot of hw))

"I am going to meet Zoraida at the cornucopia and tell her about what has happened. For now April, possible try to carry Daniel, if you can't I am sure if I bring Zoraida over she'll do the job just fine." Silver quickly ran to the cornucopia and saw Zoraida there pacing around. She looked at everything organized in groups. "You must have OCD'' she laughs a bit. "Sorry it took so long to take care of the runt, she shot Daniel and out of anger I pinned her and stabbed her in the heart with a knife." Silver took the knife out of her pocket, caked in dry blood, she examined it and then put it back in her pocket. "We also picked a bow with some arrows and a backpack off of her which April and Daniel have back there."

Lucas found himself out of the tube and on the icy landscape, and listened to the countdown. When it hit zero, he froze for a second. He was nervous. It was as if time had frozen for him, and he watched as everyone ran off and into the Cornucopia. He watched as all of the people were killed, and their blood spilled onto the snow, staining it with blood. He finally got himself to run, and he meant to get the axe, but someone else snagged it before him. He quickly grabbed two fruit baskets, a couple empty water canisters and put them in, and a single throwing knife off of the snow. They were slim pickings, but he couldn't change fate. He wasn't skilled with many weapons anyways, so they wouldn't be of any use to him. He immediately ran after he snagged the stuff, and made to the trees, away from everyone else. When he went into the woods, he started shivering. He cleaned the bloody knife in some snow, and put it in his mouth, and held both baskets with one hand. Carefully, he climbed a tree that he thought would support him, and he sat on one of the branches and surveyed the area. There was no one. He was alone; thank goodness. He hooked the two baskets on one of the branches, and filled up the water canister with snow that stuck to the tree limbs. When it was full, he sat on the branch and realized something. He had no matches. And he squinted and seen that people were already back at the Cornucopia, guarding stuff. He would have to make do, or find someone with matches or fire and steal them.

(Sorry for the late post! I hope I didn't take things that were already taken... which is why I opted for the fruit baskets.
Looks like I'll have to steal xD)

Zoraida stopped pacing immediatly, her grip tight on her kukuris handle. She internally wanted to jump for joy and hug her, calling her an idiot for having taken so long; but being the stubborn girl she is, she didn't want to show that side of her yet. Plus she barely knew Silver and didn't want to come across desperate. Relief and delight gleamed in her milky, deep, chestnut eyes although her tone differed. "How is it that you guys let a mouse injure a career?! Either way the deed is done." She said with a dejected sigh. Noticing her turning the caked blade around in her hands, she reached out her right one, gesturing for Silver to give it to her. "Give me it, i'll wash it off in the snow. You go get a new one from the pile. Tomorrow morning I want to plant some items in the forest line, as an emergency stash in case we get seperated from the cornucopia or need to ditch it last minute. When everyone comes back we will set up sleeping shifts. In the mean time, go tell the others to bring some wood, dry wood. I want to make a fire, we can cook some meat and eat finally. While someone cooks it we can also put snow in the empty canisters so when it melts, we'll have water." Zora liked having things under control and her way. She didn't mean to start barking orders immediately at Silver, she just valued efficiency.

Much to Forsythia's surprise, she jumped at the sight of a rock hitting right above her. Forsythia was lucky to be half awake and half asleep. She assumed she only got a couple of hours before this tribute came along. She curiously peeked down, before glancing up to see how far the tree went. She sighed, feeling as if she hadn't climbed high enough. Forsythia quickly packed up her things and climbed a bit higher. As she climbed, things popped up into her mind like forming an alliance with this seemingly male tribute, by the grunt he made when he threw the rock. She regretted not confronting him, wishing she had... But every time she steered clear of alliances, she was protecting everyone from Esmeralda.
Esmeralda was pretty violent, whenever Forsythia would take a break from working she would take control and go literally off the wall insane... Forsythia thought it was a good idea to just avoid everyone like they had the plague. She was technically doing everyone a favor.

"Finally we're here!" says April with a sigh. She was helping Daniel limp slowly towards the Cornucopia. "Nice job organizing," she commented as she carefully sat Daniel down against the wall of the Cornucopia. "I'll go looking for some leaves to cover his wound," she said walking into the woods. April returned with her arms filled with leaves, which she covered Daniel's wound with. She yawned, "I'm so tired, I'll just go to sleep now." She put her head on her backpack and lay down, "Wake me up when it's my turn to watch."

(That being said, I'm going to bed, like for real. See you in the morning :))

Miriam stared at the ice lake in the distance. "Mhhmhm..." She murmured to herself, walking down to the ice lake. Before the trees ended out, allowing a meter in distance from them and the lake, she inspected it to see if anyone was by it. If anyone was there, they weren't to be seen. She had absolutely no ice pick, so she could only scuffle the ice slowly, very slowly. She groaned, and began to hit the ice with the pole-arm, making tiny, tiny, marks in the ice. Can I not steal someone else's water...? She said as she got lost in thought, still making a buttload of noise. Ha, I'd like to cut down a tree and have it land on the ice. Now I see why everyone doesn't know what they need from the Cornucopia. She was paying no attention to her surroundings, making her a fairly easy target.

Alice (D10 female) had ran away from the cornucopia, hiding up in a tree. She sat and breathes heavily, exhausted and scared. She knew she had no chance defending herself, so purched steadily on the branch. I'm not a great fighter... But I know how to run.
Ryuu was in the wood, sickle and backpack on his back. He wanted to catch up with the other careers, but had got himself carried away in the bloodbath and was now lost in the woods. He sighed, grabbing a leaf to clean up his blade, being disgusted by how unclean it was. The small boy was about to continue on his walk back to find the others when he heard a rustle of leaves above him.
Alice looked down at the boy below her, she recognised him as that tiny but evil career. Oh god oh god oh god please don't see me.

Devon sighed. It was already night time and he still hadn't had a chance at killing a tribute yet. He hoped in the morning he'd get to go tribute hunting, so he could finally see his share pf the blood. He watched as the careers headed back to the cornucopia, and was about to head back himself he noticed that the D1 male still hadn't come back. What's he doing? Devon wondered, heading back into the trees to find him. Eventually he spotted the small boy cleaning his sickle with a leaf. Devon waited till he was a little closer so he didn't have to be so loud, and then called, "Yo, shortstuff. Aren't you coming back to the cornucopia?"

Sarah ran for a while, until she decided she was far enough from the middle of the arena. She needed to find food, and water to fill her cannister, but for now keeping warm during the night seemed like more of a priority. She could sooner die from hypothermia out here than of lack of water or food. She started to gather the driest sticks she could find, building herself a little fire, and used one of her matches to light it once she was satisfied. She prayed that there were no tributes near her; this would immediately give away her position if there was anyon, but she was banking on everyone laying low for the night.

Ryuu was startled by the boy behind him. "H-hey don't creepy up on me! A-And I'm not short!" He said angrily. He crossed his arms, no longer paying attention to the noise he had heard above him.
Alice watched the boys squabble and tried not to giggle. Despite the terrible situation, Alice was still a happy person.

Devon chuckled. There was nearly a foot difference in their heights and yet he was denying being short. "Whatever you say, Shortstuff," He said, still calling him yhat anyway. He had to resist the urge to pat the small boy on the head. "Anyway, all the others have gone back to the cornucopia already, what was taking so long? Chasing someone?"

Ryuu stuck his tongue out childishly, then regained his cold and serious demeanour. "Yeah, I was sure I saw some green haired girl around here." He commented.
Alice was hidden and stayed as still as she could, not wanting to be caught by the two careers.

Fleck peered up at the sky, looking at the tributes whos faces were being displayed.
The D12ers - not a surprise, it is the poorest district after all.
District 9, again, not surprising.
District 6? Not surprising.
She looked up and noticed the male from her district had been killed. She snorted.
Wasn't he training to be a security officer? Some security officer he'd be, if he died on the first day.
And finally, she saw the D3 Male, and scoffed. Some rich district D3 is.
Her district, D5, was however the richest district of the non-Careers. She was proud of that.
Fleck threw the rope she had gripped in her hand to a nearby tree that towered over her, and shimmied up it fairly quickly.
She pulled off some leaves and sticks off the branch, smeared her face with mud from the bottom of her shoes and checked the perimeter quickly, then dozed off into a light sleep.
Fleck was a very light sleeper, always waking up even at the slightest twig breaking. She could never get any sleep in District 5, what with living near the hydroelectric dam. However, she got used to it, but still found it difficult to sleep.

"Green haired girl?" Devon asked. He vaguely remembered her, he knew she was from one of the higher numbered districts though he'd forgotten which one. "Come on, we should get back to the cornucopia before we freeze out here. She'll be gone by now, and besides. Tomorrow we can go hunt the other tributes down anyway," he said, grinning from ear to ear. He was excited about the prospect of finally being able to go after a tribute.

Ryuu sighed, wanting to hunt down the girl, but turned to his ally. "Sure, let's head back. I need to rest anyway." He stretched.
Alice lay still on her branch, before falling asleep herself, she was pretty safe up there by the looks of things.

Abram tossed and turned in his sleep, and woke up in the middle of the night. He looked around, no one to be seen. Phew... he thought. He looked around once more, and saw two boys, one of which stretching. I hope they don't see me... and he grabbed his bow, holding it tight, his other items next to him. He sighed and stood up. He tried to quietly untie the rope from the tree, but stepped on and broke a stick, making a loud sound. Crap... Abram thought, and untied the rest, the hammock, along with his other items, onto the ground. He tied the ends together and tossed it over his back, then ran

Silver nodded at Zoraida and handed her the knife and grabbed a new one. She thought Zoraida was being a bit bossy but listened she went back to April and Daniel and told them about collecting wood. Silver got on it and started to collect wood for the fire. She gathered some snow and put it in a few canisters she had gotten from the piles at the cornucopia and and waited for it to melt. She was going to do her best to try and survive. She brought the items back to Zoraida, "Here you go." she handed her the items.

Lucas sat up on the branches, frozen, hidden in the leaves, hoping no one would see him. He looked down, and suddenly became very dizzy when he realized a fall from this height could easily disable him. Better not fall, he thought. He tucked the canister full of snow in one of the fruit baskets, and surrounded himself with leaves, trying to stay warm. He knew he had to make a fire or he'd surely die, but he didn't see how it was possible without matches. The only option would be to find a fellow tribute, and threaten them with his knife. A knife... no one will give me matches if I threaten them with a throwing knife, he thought. He squinted, and in the distance, he could barely make out the District 3 girl. She was aimlessly smashing ice with something long and skinny, probably a spear. It was way too far to chuck the throwing knife, and he didn't know how to throw it, as he had no experience with weapons. But he knew how to throw a snowball.

He scooped up snow that stuck to the branch he was on, and compacted it into a ball, his hands going slowly numb. He aimed, and chucked it at the girl, and watched as it hit her in the back. He was aiming for head, but it hit her nonetheless. When he seen it made contact, he hid himself back against the trunk, making sure she couldn't see him. Poor girl... this is going to be a slow painful death by snow, he chuckled to himself.

"Eh-ow!" Miriam hissed, spinning around as a snowballs godly powers smited her in the back, water soaking through her clothing, making her shiver badly. It wouldn't be that bad, if it wasn't for the constant cold, not allowing it to stop freezing. She ran forward, oblivious to the fact that it could've been bait. "How dare you! Where are you?" She beckoned to the wintry trees with her sicklestick, wandering about the trees. If she saw anyone dangerous, she'd retreat back to the ice and try to escape. Due to the sticksicle's length, she jabbed it throughout the turns of the trees, so she could tell if someone was about to pounce.
