Personally I think he's meh. I understand why the media would hype him up because I guess he is better looking than any of our "recent" past Prime Ministers. But as a Canadian I didn't vote for him based on his looks, so this craze over him is kind of shallow and it doesn't sit well with me...
You might want to clarify what the French choices on your poll are btw...LOL
No.... arguably, we have had better looking PMs decades and decades ago. But since the internet era, and the spread of social media, sure, publicity has had a lot of fun with his guy.
I didn't vote for him, or the Liberal party whatsoever... Though I fall in the "double take" category of the poll.
As you know, though some TBTers may not, we vote based on the MP of our riding, we vote the Party, not the person. As I said, NDP has the majority in my city (riding). But the Liberals won the election. To my understanding, in the US, you vote for your persona.... Bernie Sanders, Hilary Clinton, Donald Trump, etc.... you vote for THEM specifically. Not the party they represent (Republican....Democrat.... etc......) Here, you vote for the Liberals, the Conservatives, the NDP, the Bloc Qu?b?cois, the Green Party, and if you have an MP in your area to represent, there are a few other really minor parties also that I have seen that have never taken off.
I think I have to clarify not just the French responses but a few of those responses, actually!
Because many of them are references to a lot of things.
The two French responses are, from what I understand, very, VERY commonly known French phrases. I guess I am wrong.
Their placement on the 1-10 scale should be a hint, and a simple google translate would easily assist if you really wanted to know.
#5 is "comme ci comme ca" - direct translation is "like this, like that", which basically means "can't decide" or "so-so", depending on context. It is the neutral answer. The most indifferent answer. Where you have no opinion. "Makes no difference".
#10, I regret having it as "OMG" instead of "OMD" (Oh mon dieu) but anyways.... Have you not heard this song? Often played at New Years for some reason....
Here is "Lady Marmalade" a rendition my Christina Aguilera, P!nk, Mya, L'iL Kim.... a contemporary version.

Anyway, the line, "Voulez-Vous Coucher Avec Moi (ce Soir?) translates to "Would you like to sleep with me tonight" (in the Biblical sense). Voulez is conjugated as the verb for "to want", Vouloir. Coucher means litetrally "to sleep". Avec means "with". Moi is "me". "ce Soir" is "this night" or "tonight". There are other ways that sentence can be asked. Vous is a formal usage of You(singular) otherwise it means You(plural). Speaking casually, you could say, Est-ce que tu veut coucher avec moi....peut-etre? Which is similrly "would you like to", more politely, but less formally, (like how a boyfriend might test the waters with his girlriend) whereas Voulez-vouz is more demanding in tone, but formal, (like how a hooker or a enamoured Trudeau fan might approach the Prime Minister if they were really horny).
"To Old" is in quotation marks for a reason. It is a Game of Thrones reference. But it is also in reference to the fact that Trudeau is 42 years old. And most of you are teenagers. But I acknowledge some of you have the hots for celebrities and actors/actresses Trudeau's age anyway..... so.... whatever. But the quotation marks was explicity a Game of Thrones reference. (Kinda brutal when you think about it).
And "F*** THIS, I AM MOVING TO CANADA" is in reference to a LOT of things. Ever since the US legalized gay marriage. It was "F*** THIS, I AM MOVING TO CANADA!" "Oh rly? You'll be glad to know we did that in 2007. Enjoy our high taxes and free health care too...." Then with Trudeau-Mania.... If you look in the comments of the YouTube video of the Bhangra video I posted.... same thing.... ;"F*** THIS, I AM MOVING TO CANADA!" I could name countless other instances, that involve political attacks or opinions on certain US Candidates...... such as if [so-and-so] is elected "F*** THIS, I AM MOVING TO CANADA!. THAT response can, but doesn't have to have anything to do with his attractiveness phyisicslly. Do you like him because he is a geek? Came out that he smokes pot, and feels that laws that penalize possession are steeper than those of child abuse and posession of child pornography is absolutely ridiculous (I think we all can agree on that, wether we are po smokers or not)..... so he wishes to legalize it and have the substance government regulated. Do you share similar hobbies? (I do.... I am also a boxer.... I think that is pretty cool). Do you like his dancing skills? Do you iike his stance on feminism? Do you like his activism towards Syrian refugees? Do you like his charisma and how in-tune he is with Canadian youth? Do you like his sense of humour? (Like the joke of where once in your life, moving back into the home you grew up in is a good thing - because his father was PM and he grew up on Sussex Drive)
