The METAL thread! \m/

That's a YT channel I need to explore more.

Recently came across a German power metal band called Circle of Silence. They sound excellent:

I prefer Justin Broadrick's previous projects, but Jesu also has its moments. My friend recommended me their Silver EP various years ago, and it turned out to be mostly enjoyable. The title track is definitely the best one:

Reminds me a bit of '80s Blackened Thrash from Brazil!

Idk if they count as metal but I love Powerwolf’s songs, especially “Amen and Attack.” I also discovered that pirate metal is a sub genre.

^Yeah Powerwolf is defintely metal(power metal to be specific) and I agree, they're awesome! One of my personal favorites of theirs is Sanctified With Dynamite. As far as "pirate metal" goes I DO like me some Alestorm and Running Wild(though technically the former is folk/power metal while the latter is pure power metal..."pirate metal" is a misnomer in that it describes the themes rather than the musical style).

Most enthusiasts of Metal that I've come across on the internet have such a massive distaste for Glam Metal. While I can understand why (groups like Bon Jovi, Poison and Winger do indeed give Glam Metal a bad name), I've generally always loved this kind of music, and I don't care if it's "outdated" or considered unpopular to like now. Tonight, I was reminded of Dokken's "Dream Warriors":

Aaaaaaand that's my random Metal thought of the night.

Sweet dreams.....

I haven't really bothered to listen to anything new from Cradle Of Filth since about 2006, the reason being that I wasn't liking much of what they were releasing at the time. That track didn't impress me, but it wasn't bad! Dani's voice sounds slightly different though.

"Nymphetamine Fix" will probably always be my favorite song from Cradle. It's beautifully eerie and also features Liv Kristine from Theatre Of Tragedy!
