Right now in New Leaf, the amount of villagers you can have in your town is 10.

Is the limit of 10 ok for you or do wish to have more vilagers in the town in the new
game? What would be for you the perfect amount of villagers in your town?

I would like to have the opportunity to have more villagers in the town, because I had
often the trouble in New Leaf that I had to decide between all my favorites, which was
not easy sometimes. Besides that, I have the feeling that 10 is kinda... I don't know, it
feels like the town is not really full of life? At least I had that feeling sometimes when I
played NL. So I hope that in the new game, you can have more then 10 villagers in the
town. Between 15-18 would be nice, 20 would be amazing, but I doubt that this would
be possible (then again, you never know...).

In the original Gamecube game, there was a maximum of 15 villagers per town, and I thought that was perfect. Although an even 16 would be great too! I think any more than that would be overwhelming to me, personally!

15 to 18!

I like having a decent number of villagers, it makes it feel more like a little community! Any more than that would just be a bit too much to keep up with imo lool :p

I agree that 10 is not enough - at least not for me! But I think chances are good that we'll see an increase in villager slots in the new Animal Crossing for the Switch, since I firmly believe the map is going to be larger than in NL. The village in New Leaf was pretty small so 10 was a decent amount based on that, but with a larger map we really need more slots.
In AC for the Gamecube for example the limit was 15 villagers, fitting the larger map!

I voted for 15-18 but thinking about it I feel like 12-15 or just straight up 15 (maybe 16 to make it even, but probably not more than that unless we truly get a looooot of space) is perhaps more appropriate. 15 villagers did feel like plenty back in the Gamecube days, I often couldn't even quite remember all of mine. ^^""" In the end for me it all depends on how large our village is going to be, but I'm gonna hope on 15.

I think they should increase it to 15. I always have some villagers that I want but the town is full ;-;

I grew up having 8 villagers in WW so when I later played GC, 15 felt way too crowed and busy. I personally think 10 is a good amount

I still play Gamecube, and one of my favorite things about it is the town size. 15 villagers may seem like a lot, especially since there are only 6 personalities, and it is. But in my opinion it makes the town feel more real. In Gamecube I tend to be really good friends with a few villagers, then the others are just some I occasionally talk to. Realistically, not everyone in a small town is going to be best friends. Most people will probably interact once in a while, but they are just friendly acquaintances if anything.

I was thinking exactly that. ^ It definitely makes it feel a little more realistic, while also giving the town more liveliness to it.

I voted 12 to 15. I think having 15 like in the GameCube days was perfect.

15 sounds like the perfect number.

The 10 limit while it was decent I still would struggle due to like too many villagers, if it were 15 I wouldn't struggle at all.

This is tough. I would love more but only if there's plenty of space for them without it being cramped. I'm going to vote 20 as that was my first thought!

Voters for 15+, keep in mind you have to fit PWPs and paths in your towns now (and possibly the stores). We're most likely set to get the oversized Amenities from PC, too. We already complain that NL is cramped, and the only way a 15+ town wouldn't also feel that way is if it is absurdly large (GC was 7*7, we'd be looking at 9*9 or larger). If Nintendo actually did all that we'd be complaining about how it's 500x harder to plot now lol. It would also limit the possible types of one animal only towns, which appear popular atm.

I'm thinking 12 or 13 villagers.

I think maps in Animal Crossing on Gamecube were 5x6 actually, not 7x7!

You make a good point though. ACGC was a much simpler time. But I'll still hope for a large enough map so 15 villagers could fit on it without too much of an issue of it feeling cramped. ^^""
I personally wouldn't mind having plotting issues as long as they'd stem from having too much map space to work with.

They are 5x6 in Gamecube, here's an image of one.

Aw, I haven't played it in a long time and a graphic in a recent thread made it look square. ^_^

15 would be so great. I've recently replaced Drago, Flora, and Hamlet with Del, Bluebear, and Teddy and it can be pretty tricky figuring out who to switch out in those situations (except for Drago, who suits Japanese towns more, which made Del an easy replacement).

12 to 15 would be perfect! We just gotta worry about the similar personalities between villagers unless Nintendo comes up with the new ones. I'd rather have 10 villagers than 15 of them if were gonna get 5 villagers of the same personality.
