Pokémon The Pokémon Challenge Thread

Annnnnnnnnnnnd I pretty much made sure I could get any encounter ahah
This is what I did, I went to Cherrygrove City to catch a Magikarp in the water. View attachment 597800
So then, I went to Route 27 to catch:
Route 27: Chinchou (Hoku) PROTECT THIS ELECTRIC FISH FOR THE A LIFE OF ME
So my next plan to was to get Slowpoke in Tohji Falls, but because a Raticate didn’t let me leave, I automatically killed it, not realising it before too late, and now I can’t get Slowpoke at all, which is really sad because I really wanted to try Slowking out for the Nuzlocke. :( Crumbs.

Route 26: Sandslash (Andrew)

Sadly killed Onix in Victory Road, the one pokemon I wanted DX man i really wanted to try out steelix too X

Anyways, I have a full list of my pokemon and their moves/stats etc. Gawd I have no many pokemon, I haven't done any primo eggs as that's not so sure if I need it.

omg that was a pain to type out.
Honestly, there are a few I won't be using.
But for instance, I really wanna try and use Chinchou, or Dratini and Gliscor! I kinda wanna keep Quagsire in the party because there's like ONE pokemon in the whole elite that has explosion. And I would very much like to avoid that. I also wanna try out Horsea.
But I am gonna try and research things before I choose~

Woah, that's an impressive lineup! I'd definitely go for either Dratini or Dewgong on your team. I have a feeling it'll be really helpful in the champion battle. Crobat is another option that could be helpful, considering its speed and type advantages against some of the E4 Pokemon. Whatever you do decide to end up using, I'm sure it'll be an amazing combination! 🥳

Update on my Pokemon Violet Wonderlocke/Surpriselocke!

A LOT happened since last time. I ended up challenging the Dark team crew and won. Then I took a detour to Kitakami in the DLC and met the based boi Kieran once again. Did some battles there and then came back. Took on the Levincia City gym after my shiny Gastly evolved into a Haunter and then a Gengar. Defeated Iono. Then I took on the Lurking Steel Titan and won easily thanks to my newly evolved Pelipper. Took on the Fire team crew during this time as well and won easily thanks to my shiny Quaxwell and Pelipper. Last, but certainly not least, my Flaaffy evolved into an Ampharos and I defeated gym leader Kofu easily thanks to that and the move Volt Switch (plus Terastallization). During all of this I got some neat trades as well. Acquired an Eevee, Hisuian Zorua, Charmander, AND a level 35 Snover with Adamant nature and Ground Tera. I have those four boxed for now though as I really can't bring myself to switch out anyone in my party.

My shiny Shuppet is the only mon left on team that isn't fully evolved, but it's close at only a couple levels away. When I next play I'll most likely take on the Poison team crew. Until then!

Update on my Pokemon Violet Wonderlocke/Surpriselocke!

A lot happened since last time. I took on the Poison team crew and won. Then I made my way to the Medali City gym. On the way there, my shiny Gengar, Asta, and my Pelipper both died to a Pokemon that was too high level for my team (kind of forgot there's some trainers there that really shouldn't be), but thankfully my shiny Quaquaval, Dreamy, took it out finally and minimized the deaths. I took on the Medali City gym and won easily thanks to Dreamy, and then made my way to the Montenevera City gym. During this time one of my new trade Pokemon, a shiny Chimchar named wreythe.shop, evolved into a Monferno and then Infernape. Joker, my shiny Shuppet, evolved into a Banette. And last, but certainly not least, my Snover evolved into an Abomasnow. I taught them Tera Blast so that Abomasnow can make use of its Ground Tera type. Took on the gym and defeated Ryme pretty easily.

It's unfortunate that Asta and Pelipper both got sent to the netherworld, but not the worst thing that could have happened. When I next play I'll be taking on the Quaking Earth Titan, followed by the Alfornada City gym. Until then!

FINAL update on my Pokemon Violet Wonderlocke/Surpriselocke challenge!

I ended up defeating the Quaking Earth Titan and Tulip from Alfornada City gym. Joker the shiny Banette almost fainted because I forgot her Espathra has Shadow Ball, but thankfully he tanked it and survived. Then I went on to defeat the Glaseado City gym as well. With the level cap not being restricted with all 8 badges, I was able to obtain a shiny level 100 Ceruledge from surprise trade (although I'm pretty sure it's hacked). Decided to use it since I was going by the gym badges anyway for level restrictions on my challenge.

I then took on and got the last three badges from the False Dragon Titan, the Team Star Fairy Crew, and the Team Star Fighting Crew. Then I took on the Pokemon League and did everything else required to enter Area Zero. I actually ended up SWEEPING both Nemona and Arven's teams using only my shiny Quaquaval named Dreamy, due in large part to having its HA Moxie and spamming Aqua Step. Then I went into Area Zero and cleared all the battles, and then completed the story. Turo wasn't that bad, although my Abomasnow could have fainted had his Iron Jugulis's Flamethrower left it with a burn, but it didn't. By defeating Turo I completed the challenge, meaning I have now completed a Pokemon Nuzlocke/Wonderlocke/Surpriselocke in every generation of Pokemon.

I still have to resume and finish my Pokemon Insurgence Soul Link Randomizer Nuzlocke with my friend, but after that I probably won't be doing any more challenges for awhile. Until then!

while not a nuzlocke, one of my favorite teams I've ever used was my mono-electric team in Platinum. I beat the game, and I remember how hyped I was. My team was Biz the Pachirisu, Tenno the Jolteon, Ordis the Magnezone, Limbo the Rotom, Eudico the Luxray, and Thursby the Electivire. I remember facing Cynthia. Her last Pokemon, Roserade, was on low health. My last Pokemon, Thursby, was on low health. Roserade was faster but Thursby had the quick claw. All I needed was one more ice punch... and Quick Claw popped, winning me the game.
I love doing mono-type team runs, but that Platinum team is my favorite. They all did incredible. Biz the Pachi was for sure the weakest link, but all of them are special to me.

Pokemon Insurgence Soul Link Randomizer Nuzlocke, FINAL UPDATE: WHAT'S WITH ALL THESE MEGA DIANCIES?!?

A LOT happened since I last updated this challenge, but I got the last gym badge, took on the main villain of the game, and then went past the Nexa Border to take on the Pokemon League. It's really funny because the E4 battles and Champion Reukra got progressively easier the further I advanced. And for some reason BOTH TWO of the Elite Four members and the Champion, Reukra, were randomized to send out Mega Diancie. Thankfully my Registeel was more than up to the task of defeating them, however.

2qciBCM.gif

With my friend and I completing the E4 and defeating Champion Reukra with no casualties, we hereby WON the challenge!!! 🥳 🥳 🥳

This is probably the last time in a good while I'll be doing a Pokemon Challenge, but I had a ton of fun with it along the way. Thanks for reading, and see ya next time!

I didn't expect to make this Crystal Nuzlocke, but since I almost have gotten to the league this quickly, I thought I'll post it now~

04140a6d72292974b5fa43ef78868019_w200.gif

Despite already doing a Heartgold nuzlocke (I am also working on my Emerald and Pokemon X nuzlocke that I've left in the dust all those months ago..), I really wanted to play Pokemon Crystal and see how well I could do! So let's get started.

Name of my player: Louie
As per usual I chose to pick:

tumblr_o2ejsyGVHj1v68t0mo4_250.gif

Cyndaquil, Male called Spitfire

And because we cannot fight anything in the grass off the bat, I fled each battle until I got to Mr.Pokemon, took the egg off his hands and bumped into our rival.

My rival took out his stolen Totodile, and I sent out my only Pokemon.
Spitfire uses leer, and so does Totodile.
Just to be safe, I had Spitfire use leer once again, and Totodile uses scratch.
Spitfire uses tackle, and gets scratched in the process. It got Spitfire in the yellow and he eats his berry.
Another tackle, and Tododile's scratch worried me enough to use my potion.
Tododile scratches Cyndaquil and he gets tackled.
He gets scratched so much he's in the red this time, but one more tackle and he's finally down!

I nicknamed my rival Mondue...kinda like Fondue...in a way.

After grabbing my Pokedex and Poke Balls - saying goodbye to Chikorita who'll forever stay in the lab - and ran through the night to grab some Pokemon.

Route 29: Hoothoot, called Jailbirb

Route 46: Rattata, named Booty - as per usual

Route 30: Spinarak called Tebbs

Screenshot 2025-01-07 19.05.25.png

Route 31: Bellsprout called Vinnie

tumblr_mpbqg347i11s3bc1no3_400.gif

Dark Cave: Zubat, named Vask

As you can see, I sped through this area as I defeated trainers and trained my Pokemon against wild encounters and got through the area a lot quicker. I am used to doing this, and I am happy I got a few good Pokemon that will be useful. And some that I haven't fairly used as much.
I battled against the monks in the Bellsprout Tower, before coming face to face with the leader monk. I also left Vinnie in my boxes as he wouldn't be too useful here.

My Team:
Spitfire - LV 10
Tebbs - LV 9
Booty - LV 8
Vask - LV 9
Jailbirb - LV 9

Booty was sent out against his Bellsprout.
Booty uses tackle and his Bellsprout grows.
Another tackle from Booty, and Bellsprout uses vine whip; causing Booty to fall on 10HP.
I didn't see much wrong in that, because Booty was faster and tackled Bellsprout down and it fainted.

He has another Bellsprout and I switched to Vask. Mainly to train Vask up since it's lower state is harder to level with bad moves.
I take the chance to use supersonic, which doesn't work and Bellsprout whipped Vask for trying to pull that.
I tried again, and another waste of a move, whearas Vine Whip always hits. Finally, supersonic hits and Bellsprout gets hurt in confusion; like I wanted.
Vask uses leech life, and Bellsprout is confused no more - how dare he - and Vask gets vine whipped.
Vask uses leech life and Bellsprout uses vine whip (This happens about two or three more times, yeah it's a long battle)
Another leech life, and Bellsprout is on 1HP, ommg stapppp. Bellsprout uses growth.
Lastly, one more lech life and it faints.

I bring out Tebbs, and out comes Hoothoot.
Hoothoot is faster and growls at my spider. Tebbs uses a poison sting, hoping to poison it.
Hoothoot uses foresight, and Tebbs uses poison sting, causing Hoothoot to get poisoned!
Hoothoot uses tackle, and gets hurt by their poison. Tebbs uses scary face.
Another poison sting, Hoothoot gets hurt again, but uses tackle.
I then switch to Jailbirb, where Hoothoot uses tackle and gets hurt in the process.
Jailbirb uses tackle, and Hoothoot growls and gets hurt by their posion.
One more tackle from Jailbirb and Hoothoot is down.
He seemed happy with my training, and I believe I trained a bit more before going against the bird gym. I do not remember the levels, but similar from above.

-----
Gym

I send out Booty and Falkner uses Pidgey.
Booty uses tackle and gets a crit! Pidgey uses tackle.
Booty tackles again, and gets Pidgey’s HP in the red, while their own move misses.
A quick attack and Pidgey faints.

I wasn’t too sure who to use, so I decided to use Spitfire against his Pidgeotto.
He is quicker and uses gust, and I get Spitfire to leer it.
Spitfire uses tackle, and Pidgeotto uses gust again.
One more gust that gets my Spitfire in the red before tackling.
I switch out to Jailbirb, and my birb gets gusted.
Gust again, and Jailbirb uses tackle.
I decide to use a potion on Jailbirb in fear of fainting. Pidgeotto uses gust like a champ and Jailbirb uses tackle.
I use another potion, as the wind gets to bloody strong.
JAILBIRBS TACKLE MISSES
Pidgeotto uses gust, and Jailbirb is 4HP. This time the tackle hits and Pidgeotto faints. Omg

I'll stop here for now, as it's long enough already. But I can't wait to share what happens next.
(In fear of the posts submerging with each other, I'll wait a bit before I add any more posts, like what happened last time)

post 2 for Pokemon Crystal~

After the first gym I continue my journey.

Route 32: Hoppip, named Lucy-Lu, I wished they had better movesets ;_:

tumblr_pvc7pahIos1y8n9fro3_1280.png

Union Cave: Wooper which I called Spawn...Mainly because I wanted to use a different pokemon (onix) and was a little unsatified. (Future me here though, he has been super helpful in some ways.)

Finally~ I didn't get you in Heartgold, but you're here in Crystal.

a7bd4ec2d44574066237791e682f4da35ac4fe6b_00.gif

Itex Forest: Oddish called Daemon - I love Oddish's sprite here, the lil feet wriggle 🥰

Vaguely don’t remember much here, but I did do my best to train the Pokemon I recently got, though not fighting in the route between the town and Union Cave for reasons I have clearly forgotten.
The gym battle was quite easy after having better Pokemon to use against the gym leader.

Gym battle

The only levels I made note of were Spitfire being level 15, and Jilabirb being level 13.

He takes out his Metapod and I sent out my birb.
Jailbirb uses peck and Metapod tackles. Another peck and Metapod faints.

He wants to use his Scyther, so I bring out Spitfire.
Scyther uses fury cutter, and Spitfire uses ember.
Scyther uses quick attack and I ember, maybe trying to burn it.
Another quick attack, but it’s fine because he faints after Spitfire’s ember.

I bring out Jailbirb out for his last Pokemon, Kakuna.
Jailbirb uses peck and Kakuna uses string shot.
Kakuna is quick enough to use poison sting, and uses peck.
Kakuna’s last poison sting poison’s my birb so he gets pecked one last time.
I knew who was going to stop me from leaving this town, so I quickly trained Vask a bit more so Vask learns bite. ;)

My rival Mondue sends out his Gastly, and Vask comes out.
OMFG HE WITHDREW HIS GASTLY FOR HIS CROCONAW ARE YOU SERIOUS - how are you this smart.
Two can play at that game, so I switch to Vinnie - Croconaw uses water gun
His leer failed, saddening. Vinnie uses growth.
Croconaw scratches Vinnie, and he gets vine whipped.
Another scratch, because he doesn’t learn and gets a vine whipped and faints.

What a surprise, Gastly returns, and so does Vask!
Gastly was faster and puts Vask to sleep. :/
He decides to lick the bat, which causes a crit for some reason, but Vask awakes and bit him.
He didn’t like that and Gastly puts Vask to sleep again.
Gastly licks again, and Vask was grossed out enough to wake up and bit him again.
Another lick and Vask bites him to death.

He has his own Zubat and I bring out Spawn since he won’t be too useful in the forest. Give him some training.
Zubat bites Spawn causing a flinch.
Zubat uses supersonic as usual, and Spawn’s slam missed.
Another bite, another flinch. That’s it, I switch to Spitfire.
Spitfire uses ember, and he gets confused via supersonic again.
Spitfire gets hurt via it’s confusion, Zubat bites him and Spitfire uses it’s berry.
Right, I switch to Jailbirb because I was flustered, and Zubat bites Jailbirb.
Zubat uses bite again, and Jailbirb uses tackle to end the nightmare.

Pass the forest and through the route, we get to the Daycare Man, and if anyone knows, you can get a random cool Pokemon from the egg.
So I rush back to Falkner’s town to hatch this egg. I was really hoping for like Tyrogue, or Smoochum, and then the egg hatched into:

d1ae0e5770d7ad505dc392079ab52dfe4b38c92d_hq.gif

Violet City: Magby, female named Phhyra. Not too bad honestly, just wasn't expecting it.

minnow-ezgif.com-webp-to-gif-converter.gif

Route 34: Jigglypuff, named Minnow, oh hello there child~
I was training my Pokemon in the next route passed Goldenrod City, to get more done and more access to encounters, and sadly my Oddish died to the boyfriend’s rolling Marill. ;_;
Girlfriend saying her partner aint’s so great, YET HE KILLED MY BLOODY ODDISH.

Death Box:
Oddish - Daemon

58-ezgif.com-webp-to-gif-converter.gif

Route 35: Growlithe named Taika, used a quick ball on this roaring beast.

FS3AWJKWYAEKp6K.jpg

National Park: Sunkern, female, called Kestrel
So, there was something weird when it came to my game, or time or I dunno I can't explain it. But the day wasn't the same as real life day, when I had planned to go to the Natioanl park when the event was on. I was so confused and didn't wanna miss out on anything so I grabbed this Pokemon

I honestly didn’t have a very covered strategy when it came to HER. My only idea was training my Spawn to evolve into a Quagsire so a rolling cow wouldn’t be too problematic. I also right at the end put in random Pokemon for chances to try and poison or burn, and can I say, future me here, bringing Spitfire into this battle was the best choice and was the only reason I properly survived.

----------------------------------------------------------

Gym 3:

Phyyra (LV 17)
Vinnie (LV 18)
Taika (LV 17)
Spawn ( LV 20)
Tebbs (LV 17)
Spitfire (LV 20)

Whitney takes out her Clefairy and I bring out Phhrya.
Phhrya uses dizzy punch, and Clefairy uses her scary metronome move to pound me. Thank goodness. The person I was watching, when he went up against Clefairy's metronome, it turned into Thunder.
Another dizzy punch, and Clefairy uses mimic.
I didn’t stop with the dizzy punch, causing Clefariy to become confused, hurts itself and faints.

I bring out Spawn against her Miltank.
After what happens, I sorta didn’t make notes near the end, you’ll find out why.
Spawn uses tail whip, hoping the defense isn’t TOO bad, and Miltank uses it’s attract. Yaaaayy.
Spawn is too in love to attack, and Miltank uses rollout. Yayyyyyyyyyyyy
Rollout and Spawn is too in love.
Another rollout, Spawn believes in true love. While Milktank uses rollout several times before once again, Spawn can’t physically hurt her.
I did my best to heal Spawn as the rollout kept happening, and it is complete madness.

I switch to Tebbs as I was planning to poison her. But after several rollouts, Tebbs died.

I switched to Vinnie and was able to get Miltank to sleep, and decided to switch to Spitfire. And this is where Spitfire uses smokescreen several times while Miltank slept. Like this place turned into a damn sauna of all things.

I don’t remember how it all went, but I was able to use the smokescreens to my advantage as she did find it hard to touch my Pokemon, but she still dealt heavy damage to Spitfire and he sadly dies.
Bringing out Taika as I am still trying my DAMN BEST to burn the bloody thing, and Taika also died.
I switched back to Spawn, not realising the attract would disappear when switching out. (I ain't gonna think about it too much.) But with help from not hitting Spawn and hitting until finally Miltank was finally dead.

I felt so utterly disgusted with what happened and I felt so bad that three Pokemon were killed. Like, I almost gave up.
I didn’t use Spitfire as much, so maybe it didn’t hurt as much but I wasn’t happy.

Dead Box:
Oddish - Daemon
Spinarak - Tebbs
Quilava - Spitfire
Growlithe - Taika

post 3 for Pokemon Crystal~

04140a6d72292974b5fa43ef78868019_w200.gif

After that crazy gym experience, I got some other Pokemon out and went to go against that funny tree past National Park.

tumblr_mtrk2nCddp1s6n9u5o4_400.gif

Route 36: Sudowoodo, male called Imai.

You know what's worse? The Sudowoodo killed my Magby.

Dead Box:
Oddish - Daemon
Spinarak - Tebbs
Quilava - Spitfire
Growlithe - Taika
Magby - Phhyra

I swear Pokemon doesn't want me having ANY fire types when I play nuzlockes, that's like three fire types gone now!!

I decide to avoid the grass in Route 37, fun fact, if you have a pokemon with Cut in crystal, you can actually cut the grass away! It respawns after you leave the area and come back; but super interesting I never knew you could do this back then! I'll be interested more why they removed this feature.

Getting to Eruteak Town and finally meeting Bill, I realised I could stalk him back to Goldenrod to get a free Eevee!

image08.gif

Goldenrod City: Eevee called Finn. Definitely wanna try and get Espeon this way :D

mag-ezgif.com-webp-to-gif-converter.gif

Route 38: Magnemite called Lumin
As per usual, I did quite a bit of training to get my Pokemon to a sensible level, plus levelling Mochi to level 20 so it finally knows Confusion! So pretty sure, Mochi and Vask were the best when it came to the ghost gym.

-------------------------

Ghost gym
Mochi (LV 23) Holding quick claw, since her speed is worse than a snail. And I love her for it.
Spawn (LV 22)
Vask (LV 23) - Finally a Golbat :D
Vinnie (LV 22)
Finn (LV 21)
Imai (LV 21)
Mochi is ready for his Gastly, and one confusion and Gastly is down.

His Haunter comes out against my Vask.
Vask uses bite, Haunter thought curse was necessary and faints.

Mochi is now against his Gengar. Boi, does he look so damn creepy here.
Mochi uses confusion, and Gengar wanted to put Mochi to sleep, but it didn’t affect Mochi.
He then decides to mean look, which yeah, that scares me. Mochi uses confusion.
He tries to put Mochi asleep again, and it still doesn’t work, one more confusion and Gengar is down!

Oh right, there’s another Haunter…back to Vask!
Vask uses bite, and Haunter uses spite - I laugh inside.
One more bite, and Haunter is no more.

What a lovely battle that was~

------------------------

It was time to move on, pass trainers and other routes, oh Route 39, wonder what I can get here.

Route 39: Miltank, named Hilda - I had to give her a nice name to actually have feelings for this one.

You have no idea the restraint I had to either run or bash it in. But Miltank has been so interesting to use. She is a beast for a reason.

I trained in the light house and also ran about to grab more Pokemon in several places~

machop.gif

Mt.Mortar: Machop, female, called Ginormica! Because she will become a beast!

Route 27: Shellder, female and called Arkose

I went down to Slowpoke Well to get a King’s Rock and evolve - trade over Mochi into Slowking~!

EEVEE GOT KILLED BY A DRAGON RAGING SEAHORSE WHATI really wanted Espeon too. I should’ve switched before, but planned to do it once I was gonna tackle ;_;
Vask baby evolved into Crobat~
tumblr_ms7vr9b0AQ1s6n9u5o1_500.gif

Sadly as I was training Chinchou it got killed :(

Anyways, after several attempts to train, I wait after the shiny Gyarados and accidentally killed the thing, but the thrash was a bit too problematic for me to handle.

Then, I finally get time with the grunts and train weaker pokemon~

Rocket Executite sends out his Zubat, and I sent out Lumin, LV26
With one thundershock and it was dust.
Ginormica LV26 goes against his Raticate. Raitcate likes to tail whip, and Ginormica gets Raticate in the red with his karate chop. A short quick attack here, and one more chop and he’s gone.
Koffing scares me in this game, because there’s no abilities such as damp. So I bring out Mochi LV 27. Mochi is quicker and kill it with Confusion.

Now I have to deal with the girl and the electrodes…

She brings out her Arbok, and I had Mochi in the front since she’s stronger. Which was lucky this round. As I got leered, Mochi used confusion. Mochi got a bite but wasnt as bad, was worried it would do a lot of damabe but it only did about, 14hp lost. Arbok died next.
Then there was murkrow, what a crazy coincudence i brought Imai into the party (for the electrodes)
Murkrow used haze, cool. Imai’s rock missed. Used pursuit, and this time the rock was thrown and killed the birb.
Now there was gloom. My only pokemon that can deal with either grass or posion have a grass weakness :/ I still bought back Mochi for this one. Mochi used confusion and killed in one hit.

Once Ginormica evolved into Machoke, I quickly evolved it into Machamp~

I swam once again to see Suicune and Eusine wanted to battle to prove something.
He takes out his Drowzee, of course he has a Drowzee - and I take out Vask.
Vask was quicker and bit him, but wasn’t as strong as I would like, being two levels higher. Drowzee tried to put my bat to sleep, and I can’t stand that so I decided to use confuse ray on the bugger. It hurt itself in confusion.
Vask used bite and caused him to flinch, allowing Vask to leech life it to death.

I wasn’t finished using Vask, and kept her in for Haunter.
Vask used bite and was super effective. Haunter licked my Vask. 0-0 One more bite, and Haunter is down.

Imai was the best solution to the Electrode situation. Imai being lv 27.
Of course it used screech, and Imai threw rocks at it. It started a rollout, and Imai’s attack missed. Another rollout session, and this time the rocks got Electrode in the red. Another rollout and this was great as Imai defeated it with another rock.

post 4 for Pokemon Crystal~

When it comes to this part of the story, what I really like is how we have three different gyms and they're about the same levels, so there's no right way to defeat three gym leaders before Team Rocket. I kinda like that.
There was much debate within my head on who to go against first. And I feared the two fighting gym trainers we go up against; so I decided to go against the ice gym.

-----

Ice gym:

My team:
Ginormica the Machamp LV 30, with a quick claw for safety reasons.
Hilda the Miltank LV 24
Lumin the Magnemite LV 29
Spawn the Quagsire LV 26
Imai the Sudowoodo LV 27, our second fighter for ice
Mrs Frog the Poliwag, just in case

Ginormica and Lumin being my besties for this gym.

Pryce's short conversation sent a chill up my spine as we started. He sent out his Seel, and I brought out Lumin.
Lumin uses thundershock, and Seel uses icy wind. Seel uses aurora beam, and one thundershock left before Seel faints.
For some madness, Pryce is demanding to use his blasted Piloswine, so Ginormica comes out to deal with the mammoth.
I go first and she uses A BLOODY CRITICAL HIT KARATE CHOP AND ENDED ITS EXISTENCE OMG SHE IS A BEAST!!

This is where I really debated on who goes up against his Dewgong. And I decide to bring Lumin out, and of course if the ice causes too much stuggle, I'll switch.
Anyways, Dewgong uses aurora beam. Lumin's thundershock doesn't do too much damage. Another aurora beam, and then another thundershock. Lumin is now in the yellow, while the seal is in the red.
I decide to use a super potion, which is completely fine since his deal decided to rest to heal up.
He has nothing to wake himself up, so I quickly try and spam moves before he wakes up!
Omg, he woke up, just to go back to sleep and heal again. 😩 I wish I could do that. Luckily this time I was able to faint Dewgong with more moves!!

------------
I thought this was the best time to go up against the steel gym, after levelling up Mochi a bit more.

Steel gym:
Imai LV 29
Spawn LV 26
Ginormica LV 33 holding quick claw again
Vinnie LV 28
Mochi LV 30
Mrs Frog LV 22 just in case
Despite the fact she was thanking me, I was shaking with fear. Also I didn’t realise gen 2 was when steel types first came out, interesting.

Magnemite came out and tried to supersonic my Imai but it wouldn't affect Sudowoodo! Imai uses low kick and gets it in the yellow. Decides to use thunderbolt, and got me nearly in the past half yellow but Imai was able to get rid of it.

Now I dunno why most of these damn gym leaders wanna bring out their best Pokemon second time around, but meh.
Ginormica comes out against her Steelix. Gawd its sprite looks wayyy too scary.
Ginormica goes first and karate chops Steelix. It decides to use iron tail
Another Karate chop, another iron tail
Scared so I used a super potion. Iron tail again, didn't work much last time so I use a hyper potion.
Another iron tail, are sure it has another move?
So my defense was really lacking. Like, it kept going bad after iron tail. And his other moves werent doing as well as I hoped. Maybe I shoulda used strength but instead i went with karate chop again and it got in the red and this is where the iron tail killed Ginormica ;_:

I bought out Spawn. And hoped for the bloody bestSHES USES A HYPER POTION REALLY REALLY HUH HOW DAY SHE I SHOULD OF USED ONE GAH
ARE YOU SERIOUS
Spawns surf got it back past yellow, and I feel kinda insulted. Maybe I shoulda just used Spawn.
Spawn uses surf and ends that damn steel worm. I can't believe this.
Spawn continues to be the spawn of me. Not to say he's bad, nadda, I just wanted to use other pokemon.

She's wanted to bring her last pokemon and sure, let spawn have some damn more
Spawn uses surf. Gets it in the yellow, and magnemite uses sonic boom x2
it's fine one more surf and we win
The one who didn't win was Ginormica. Damn.
I shoulda let her kill mrs frog instead omg.
She gave me the mineral badge so i can go bury ginormica.
The one tim i use machamp and again it kills me.

You know what's more insulting? You need strength to go through the fighting gym, and guess who had strength.

------------
Fighting gym:
My pokemon
Mochi LV 31
Spawn LV 27
Imai LV 29
Vask LV 27
Mrs Frog LV 22
Vinnie LV 29

His primeape goes up against my Mochi.
He uses leer, which failed and I use confusion. I feel like I could've used a curse, but the primeape was already down in one move so that's cool.

I swap Vinnie out for Poliwrath’s wrath.
I put Poliwrath to sleep to silence his damn wrath.
Chuck uses his full heal, good for you. Vinnie uses vine whip. CRIT OMG
Vinnie uses another vine whip and ends it. Omg
We love a distressing game don't we.

@Giddy

I FINALLY had the time to sit down and read your last four or so posts word-for-word, and I'm REALLY glad you decided to keep doing the challenge despite losing a good amount of Pokemon against Whitney. In the past when I was doing my challenges I tended to get discouraged kind of easily, but learned that as long as you still have at least one Pokemon remaining, you can still potentially win the challenge. So kudos to you.

Glad to hear as well that you've made it so far into the game. Can't wait to read your next update! 🥳

It definitely felt disheartening, like the fact most of them were the fire types which is a rare type in this game. I think, the only fire type left that can be get is Ponyta.
I'm just not looking forward to the dragon gym. i know I have a bit of levelling up to do for some pokemon. I think my best bet here is to buy some ice punches for certain pokemon. Because my Shellder won't know Ice beam for a long while. And I don't think you can learn ice beam via levelling up with Cloyster so it's more challenging. XD
The fact my Miltank is actually being useful, I know it aint the same Miltank but it still hurts hah.

I'm glad you had time to read, this one was more words and more quicker since i've been dealing with Jhoto for a long time, so I knw what I am doing.
Right now Mochi is my top tier pokemon. Having a slowking is really helping. You'll be happy to know it's Sp Attk is at 100. I don't think Ive ever seen a stat at 100 before.

I am also working on Emerald (i have a good team, I should go back to it), and on my japanese heartgold I was mainly going around the areas to explore, find hidden items and such before I work on their training. I also been really looking at what moves tey can get via levelling up and TMs. With heartgold i feel i will struggle with the fighting elite four. But the more i look into the pokemon I mentioned before, I'll see if I can get a flying type move on one pokemon. I know I have Alakazam in that game but it doesn't feel like a proper challenge if I put them on the team. My worry is not knowing what moveset the fighting elite has. My best bet is that he will have rock moves and ice/thunder punch but no matter how much I've looked, no site gives me their moveset.
And the fact you cant get the Psychic tm until AFTER the elite hurts my brain.
Really need to go back to X again haha.
