Happy November! Halloween 2024 has ended and our carnival has closed, so now it's time to highlight some of its most memorable entries. Like many other TBT events, picking our favorite submissions out of so many amazing ones was quite tough. With such a talented community, not all entries that stood out to us could fit into this closing ceremony. Thank you, everyone, whether you were featured here or not, for sharing your creativity with TBT. I hope you all had as much fun creating as we did viewing and reading!

Pick Your Lantern and Its Date

---

Staff favorites in Creature Feature, Pierrot's Parlor, Pumpkin Pageantry, Tales of Terror, and Unreal Estate receive their choice of the Cursed, Sinister, or Ancient Lantern. Users with multiple staff favorite entries will receive one lantern with all events listed in its message.

If you're one of the winners, please make a thread in the Contact the Staff board specifying which of the three collectibles you'd like. You may also specify the date and time of the collectible if you'd like it to be placed at a specific location in your collectable lineup. Please use the EST timezone for any day between October 19th and November 5th. Otherwise, the default date we'll use is Halloween.

Collectible lineups are ordered by date from newest (on the top left) to oldest (on the bottom right). We won't look at your other collectibles or help you order them. You must post your request by November 12th and we won't change them more than once if you give us the wrong date/time. Please submit this request via the Contact the Staff board only.

If you don't care about the type or date of the collectible you'll receive, we'll send you a Cursed Lantern with a Halloween date after the 12th. Carnival Coins for staff favorites and Bells for Delicous Designs nominees will be distributed tonight.

Leading up to Halloween, the community voted between the Wix Well and Macabre tents to decide which batch of collectibles would be added to the shop. In the end, Wix Well won the poll. Many of you were still curious about the mysterious contents of the Macabre Tent's trunk of collectibles even though they won't be released. If just one of you peeks at its contents it will likely unleash a dangerous curse, but I'll leave it here for each of you to decide what to do:

Thanks for joining us for another TBT event! And thank you to the TBT staff team for hosting yet another big event in such a busy year. Our full list of staff credits for The Return of the Haunted Carnival can be found in its opening thread.

The event's items will be officially removed from the shop on November 12th, which is also when the two raffle winners will be selected. Don't forget to spend your coins!

Before then, we have a small mini-event / presentation planned for The Bell Tree's official 20th birthday, starting on November 7th and running through the weekend. 2024 has been a big year celebrating the forum's two decades of existence and now November 7th, 2024 is finally arriving. As previously mentioned, this will be more of a presentation with a few things to participate in, but otherwise, it will be mostly laid-back and low-stress. See you then!

I really enjoyed going through all of the event entries (the only one I didn't get time for was Tales of Terror) and seeing everyone's incredible creativity! I didn't realise how many people were so good at carving pumpkins?? I really loved seeing the Creature Feature prompts, and the designs people came up with, too! I think there was a great mix of events! I was happy to see another Mistreil text game, and I always enjoy the logic puzzles! The side tasks and temporary reactions are always fun.

Thank you to the staff once again for hosting! I know it's been a busy year.

I'm looking forward to being here for TBT's 20th birthday in a few days!

Thank you to the staff for the favs and for yet another great event! I really loved all the spooky activities! Being able to contribute ideas for events was super fun too.
I loved events from both tents and it was tricky to choose between the two, but looking at the collectibles for the Macabre tent, I'm glad the Wix Well won, I like the set we got a lot better (though now it's even harder to decide where to spend my coins )

Congratulations to all the winners :D Very much well deserved. It was so nice seeing all the amazing entires from the art event especially Creature Feature with how you guys interpreted and drew your prompt! Unreal Estate was also great seeing all the lovely decorating and tidbits of lore behind some of the entries. Overall, the Halloween event was amazing. It’s one of my favorite times of the year and it was so fun participating and spooking as much people as I can with my Boos and other trickery haha Thank you all for making it awesome!

Very much looking forward to the mini-event for TBT’s official 20th birthday later this week! Especially since this weekend on the 10th also marks 10 years since I joined the forums. I can’t believe it’s been that long and I’m preparing something special but I’ll save what I have to say on that day.

Hello I got my first staff favorite ever??? I’m so glad my Wix pumpkin was a hit, I was staring at his profile picture forever trying to get the proportions right haha. Congrats to all the other winners as well! I had to take a small break from TBT this year to focus on real life challenges, so this event was a great way to get me back into the swing of things. Also another congrats to @Chere. for creating the Ghostly Kitty Ice Cream Cone, I love it sm

WHOO congrats to all of the staff favourite winners and collectible design nominees!! everyone's entries were so incredible, creative and inspiring as always! I especially loved seeing everyone's creatures and Unreal Estate builds! I hope you're all proud of and happy with your entries, because you should be! the creativity and talent in this community never ceases to blow me away.

I had so much fun designing my rooms for Unreal Estate (even though I missed Harv's island like a mf..) and am honestly still so proud of them, so it makes me so happy that others liked them as well! I will cherish my lantern forever, thank you!!

Oh my goodness! Thank you for the favorite, I'm shocked! I guess 2024 is my year for TBT I don't have much experience with spooky, but I wanted to do right by my favorite season.

I loved looking at all the new creatures and collectible designs. It was my favorite part of the event. Hoping we can do a collective story next year!

Looking at the trunk's contents, I would have loved the egg and raffle, but overall I think Wix was the better pick, so I'm happy with our community choice.

Thank you so much to the staff for liking my short story! I always work hard on my writing submissions and had long ago accepted that my style probably wasn't widely appealing enough for an event nomination, so it was a really lovely surprise to see this. I have no idea which lantern I'm going to choose, though.

Congratulations to everyone who was nominated! As always, we had such a fantastic crop of submissions.
