The squid

i think it looks alright myself, maybe you are thinking of it in comparison of nl graphics? since for what i see the new graphics are much better and more detailed than before so it doesnt stick out too much

It doesn't seem to clash with the rest of the graphics to me. Plus it really looks 'fishy', which I think is nice (though not something I would want to hold IRL ^^').

Yeah I think it's cuz the art style of new leaf seemed more detailed to me (might have to do with the saturation) where as New Horizons seems simplified but in HD but the squid was more detailed than New Leaf. I don't think it's the worst thing ever but it just brought me out of the immersion. But I'm pretty sure I'll get used to it. My brain just likes what it's used to.

When I first played ACNL I really didn't like the rolling world effect but now I love it. So it's probably the same scenario where I'm just not accustomed to it.

i have a feeling the general graphics of will get more fleshed out before the games comes out so the squid may even fit even more than it does now
understandable it was a hard adjustment for me in wild world as well and truth be told im still not the hugest fan of it xD

It looks alright to me. In my opinion, the design fits to the cartoon-ish style of the game.

It might look a little realistic but I think it fits in enough to look okay. I didn't mind it honestly but this makes me wonder how a tarantula and scorpion would look...eek to my phobia

Yes, I'm not sure how I feel about the smoother graphics. I remember people complained about New leaf at first because the villagers didn't look as cute without the big head, pixelated look. I kind of feel like the game isn't going to feel as cute if it's too realistic, the whole point of Animal crossing is it doesn't take itself to seriously and takes the mickey out of life. Maybe I'll warm to the new graphics. Who knows. It will certainly be interesting to see!

I don't really mind the fishes being realistic but having realistic insects... bugs me, ha.
I kinda have a phobia of insects, especially spiders (not an insect I know but still).
The tarantula is still very much a no no for me in New Leaf so I hope they won't make it too realistic.

I love the realistic fish! The ocean and it?s wildlife are one of my biggest interests IRL so it?s cool to see the fish looking so real.

It was a little realistic but I didn?t find it too weird nor did I think it looked too different from the overall graphic quality. Of course, they?d probably refine things and make it more consistent as they develop it more. That being said, if it is going to be more realistic, I fear catching butterflies because of my butterfly phobia T_T

Also, I found it hilarious that it was mr Nogami who was holding a squid out of all things lol XD

You can see a butterfly at the beginning of the trailer - when shes walking up the beach, its on the right side.

I like the way it looks. It kinda has a mix of both the cartoon looking style of the game and the IRL look.
