Hey guys! Haven't posted in quite a while but I updated my signature (once again).

I created a new character to try that one trick to manipulate the "needed factor" to get some unwanted villagers out. I need space so I can finally look for my dreamies again! But today Pinky asked to move out and I didn't wanna let her go. >__< Has anyone tried the "needed factor" trick to get people to move out successfully?

That's how I rush villagers out, actually. It's fairly effective. It isn't always exactly a week, and you do have to be careful, as I have had villagers I want to keep (Bluebear and Cheri) ask to move once. The key is talking to the villagers you want with all of your characters. Also missing a day or two doesn't seem to do much harm, just so long as it isn't consecutive days.

You can have as many villagers with a certain personality that you want, but there's a trick to it. You have to have 9 villagers present and get the villager you want either through trading or through the campsite. If you go down to 8 or less, the game will put up a flag and automatically fill a plot with a villager whose personality type you lack.

What is the "needed factor" trick?

The "needed factor" is detailed in the first 8 or so minutes of this video. It's basically exploiting a flag system in the coding of the game. It's fairly simple, but requires you to create a new character (does not require TTing!).

Also, if I happen to talk to, say, Greta (who I want to move out) on my main character but I ignore her on my second character, does the fact that I talked to her on my main mess up the trick? Or does it not matter?

That's how I felt about Pate in WW! I thought she was a dude for so long, then I found out she was a girl. I started disliking her, then warming up to her all over again haha.

I believe it still sends a flag to your game saying that she is "needed", but don't quote me on that. I tend to ignore those who I want out on all of my accounts, so I can't attest for this.
