Blargg I'm going to have 2 slots open tomorrow so I'd like to get one filled today before a derpy villager ends up moving in lol

I'm going to try that trick where you log in on a new character first each day but I swear I'm doing it wrong...does the time have to be set to a certain hour for this to work or is it just the new day starts at 6am so you can log in anytime after 6am but it has to be on a new character?

Any time after 6am. But I think if a villager is scheduled to move in, that villager is fixed and you can only change the location of their house.

It has to be after 6 AM as that's when the new day starts :3 My reset guide on tumblr will be updated with an amended version that clarifies that sometime later this week.

That is correct. It has to be on the new character otherwise loading up your main character will do a mini-save and you'll be stuck with what cards are dealt. Before 6 AM, it's safe to load up your already existing characters as the new day doesn't start until then. However, you'll have to get off your character before 6 AM occurs.

You can log in any time after 6 am on a new save file as long as you haven't accessed the town yet that day. If you've loaded up your mayor after 6 am before the new save file it won't work.
