When I see a plot, I reset the game. It's always still in the same spot.

check my siggy for my dreamies o3o also, how does the reset trick work? bc i don't like when villagers move south of my river.. is there a way i can change where they moved if they moved there?
Naw, it's cool. I'm sorry it didn't work out well! Oh, and to use the reset trick, you gotta use a brand-new character each time, even when finding it the first time.

Tammi is moving out of my town on the 8th. I will give her to anyone who wants her. If you have any of the cats I'd love to trade but if not she's up for grabs.
To make the reset trick work, you have to know that a villager will be putting a plot down that day. You sign in as a new "throwaway" character. Go through town until you find the plot. If you like the plot, save your new character and then delete. If you don't like the plot, reset and start again

I'll have to try that next time. Lesson learned, I guess. Though to be fair, she moved in as I was TTing to rush a villager out for someone else, so really I had no chance to prevent it.

I love this method and thanks to whoever found it...I mean I was against making the dirt from the house, but it's worth it...

I think you're doing it wrong =X If you know a villager is moving in the next day and you don't want to wait, set your 3ds clock one day forward then start your game on a new character. Now whenever you discover the plot is in a bad place hit home and start a new character. This has always worked for me

how do you know if a villager is moving in?
For example, if you recruit a villager from the campsite or another town you would expect them to move in within the next day or two so you could use the reset trick to set their plot

well people in this thread generally are asking people to move in so they know it will be within 2 days
but if you dont then you can just do the reset trick at the start of each day and if there is no plot play like normal until the next day
