if i remember correctly, the anniversary as mayor only came after the big welcome amiibo update no? so maybe we just have to wait a little longer lolWe never got an anniversary cake or thing the last time correct?
I'm more bothered by the fact that no one in the game (or the game for that matter) makes any acknowledgment to when you started your island. I know I'm going to sound like a broken record to many, but New Leaf and Isabelle gave you a little anniversary meeting with everyone around the tree plaza when it was your anniversary as mayor. You also got a furniture clock of the tree as well.
It wasn't long, it wasn't anything extraordinary, but it was something. It made it feel like they cared enough to give a nod (and to many other simple things) that the dev team in NH just couldn't be bothered to do. I know some or a lot will disagree with me, but it just feels depressing when a game from 10 years ago feels like it poured more of its soul than its successor from just 2 years ago.
this genuinely would’ve been so cool. now i’m sad they didn’t do this.missed opportunity to put in an anniversary cake DIY recipe that we can cook ourselves!
I believe that may have been the case. They may decide to, but they have stated that they are done updating the game. It still felt impersonal to just honor the game's launch date and not when someone created their town. Even without the WA update you could sit on the tree and see all the different milestones. I can't remember, do we have something like that in NH?if i remember correctly, the anniversary as mayor only came after the big welcome amiibo update no? so maybe we just have to wait a little longer lol
but in all seriousness i would like something like this more than just a celebration of the game being out long. getting a reward for your town being old was always nice
Nope. That's the thing with the Town Tree in NL. The credit roll gives you that feeling of nostalgia and accomplishment. Whereas in NH, listening to KK doesn't really give you that fuzzy feeling. It did the first few times, but now, it's just something I just do for the sake of the Nook Mile achievement.I believe that may have been the case. thats true! sitting at the town tree was amazing. really sad they couldnt bring something like that back. thats a weird thing to cut, same with upgrading nook.I believe that may have been the case. Yeah, clickbait isn’t a new thing on YouTube. Nintendo basically said no more updates. Anyone trying to convince themselves otherwise are just filled with false hope.Nintendo has made it clear about no more updates (remember the Japanese version just said "no more updates" not about them being free/major) and remembering that the "3 years of content" is just a misunderstanding on the part of some fans so the thought didn't even cross my mind. I guess it could've been a possibility but even if they did something small that might've disappointed people more in a way.
Just keep in mind with YouTubers that relied on AC news that now that no more content updates ahs been confirmed they need to try to find some ways to keep getting views even if that means creating false hope.
Yeah there's no sense of accomplishment or progression and no one ever acknowledges all of your hard work. Heck for the longest time we couldn't even do the basic stuff the villager's were doing from day 1. So to me it felt like I was on the freemium/basic account and they were all on the premium. Like there was a glass wall separating me from them/everything else. I could look, but I couldn't do.thats true! sitting at the town tree was amazing. really sad they couldnt bring something like that back. thats a weird thing to cut, same with upgrading nook.
If they're saying inside the video that there's any possibility then I feel like that goes a step beyond clickbait since it's not just creating false hope with a misleading thumbnail that people would catch onto once they played the video but making up a whole narrative and getting viewers to buy into it to keep coming back.Yeah, clickbait isn’t a new thing on YouTube.
