Some people constantly talking about how exploitative and bad this game
might be just because of
speculation and how they are going to (or already did) cancel their preorders because they feel let down by Nintendo can definitely be called panicking imo. You do realize that Pocket Camp was a FREE mobile game while New Horizons will be a full-priced mainline game? See the difference?
I feel like this: Nintendo
never let me down. They've always provided the exact gaming experience I wanted. They know their customers better than anyone. They know that there was a lot of disappointment towards Pocket Camp by the original Animal Crossing fanbase. Nintendo is a profit-based company, yes, but I've never had the feeling that they're greedy and only want the fast cash-grab. Not a single mainline Animal Crossing game hasn't lived up to my hopes and expectations and from what I've seen until now, New Horizon looks even better than ever.
Nintendo listened to their fanbase by only releasing few DLC that not only was very affordable but also added
a lot of new content without making it a necessity to buy it. I loved how we got 16 more tracks to Mario Kart 8 for only 10 bucks! And hell, they even released a completely free HUGE DLC to New Leaf
years after its original release when nobody was expecting that!
Nintendo listened to its fanbase when they announced the possibility to transfer AC's save data to another Switch console via Nintendo Online in severe cases. To add that functionality at a late point in development isn't exactly easy, but they do everything to please us and to make their games worth their price tag.
Just calm down, wait and see. Everything will be fine.
