There will not be Microtransactions and I'm gonna prove it.

To be fair even if there is microtransactions in AC, who is gonna force you to buy em? Games that are retail that have microtransactions dont require you to buy em to e joy the game.. cod mw for example.. all your paying for is guns, skins, camos and some other cosmetics... core gameplay is still there. AC will have its core gameplay even if it has MTs. Those crappy schemes where you can get better guns or items by buying in-game currency is something i will not see nintendo doing in full priced retail games... i will never see nintendo do a pay to win style MTs.

We won't know for sure until Nintendo explains/the game is released. But I don't think it means anything based on the same rating appearing on other games without microtransactions or DLC. I'm sure it will be fine.

My guess is the only "microtransactions" (if you could even call it that) will come in the form amiibo figurines and cards. Sort of like what we had going on with Happy Home Designer and New Leaf Welcome Amiibo.

As for DLC it wouldn't surprise me if they release some later down the line. But I'm not particularly opposed to this. DLC is a great way to breathe new life into an old game.

The only people panicking are those who keep imagining that others are panicking. :)

I know I'm not.

I do believe they are greedy, as I've played PC.

Some people constantly talking about how exploitative and bad this game might be just because of speculation and how they are going to (or already did) cancel their preorders because they feel let down by Nintendo can definitely be called panicking imo. You do realize that Pocket Camp was a FREE mobile game while New Horizons will be a full-priced mainline game? See the difference?

I feel like this: Nintendo never let me down. They've always provided the exact gaming experience I wanted. They know their customers better than anyone. They know that there was a lot of disappointment towards Pocket Camp by the original Animal Crossing fanbase. Nintendo is a profit-based company, yes, but I've never had the feeling that they're greedy and only want the fast cash-grab. Not a single mainline Animal Crossing game hasn't lived up to my hopes and expectations and from what I've seen until now, New Horizon looks even better than ever.

Nintendo listened to their fanbase by only releasing few DLC that not only was very affordable but also added a lot of new content without making it a necessity to buy it. I loved how we got 16 more tracks to Mario Kart 8 for only 10 bucks! And hell, they even released a completely free HUGE DLC to New Leaf years after its original release when nobody was expecting that!
Nintendo listened to its fanbase when they announced the possibility to transfer AC's save data to another Switch console via Nintendo Online in severe cases. To add that functionality at a late point in development isn't exactly easy, but they do everything to please us and to make their games worth their price tag.

Just calm down, wait and see. Everything will be fine. :)

I’m happy waking up knowing that other people are understanding my points. <3

Reggie is gone though. We're at the mercy of whoever succeeded him.

Since Nintendo plans on having CLoud Saves available, it may be safe to assume there won't be any microtransactions... At least not for tradable items.

Please don't drag up parts of my posts.
There are plenty of other people that posted similar reactions.

I don't know how many times I have tn say this, that was my initial reaction!

I haven't made topics stating there are MTA's, I have however, constantly stated I just want to know what the in game purchases added to the ESRB rating entail.

That's all, and that is it!

People constantly nitpicking.
Just move on and wait for a direct like the rest of us.
Reposting my initial reaction to that rating is negative and pointless.

I haven't constantly posted that nintendo is exploiting anything. I've never even used that word.

I said greed won out - ONCE. After reading about the ESRB.

Search my other posts constantly stating 'waiting for a direct', and also I've said 'Paid DLC would be tolerable if it is rare and not on a regular basis'. :)

I don't think there will be microtransactions, and I also don't think it's important to bring up pocket camp at all. It's a mobile game that's free. That's why there's microtransactions. Nintendo isn't going to nickle and dime us ot death with New Horizions, people are way less ready to spend a few bucks here and there on a game they spend $60 on than on a free to play game.

The wait for information is killing us all and I think it's just leading to speculation and arguing at times by this point. Everyone just needs to chill out, it's not like that rating has never been on another switch game before. We'll know eventually. Let's just bring the negativity somewhere else, everyone is hyped for this game and being a pessimist is just going to bring everyone down with you. :D

You should probably avoid posting initial reactions if that's not how you truly feel.

I have tried to be positive. Stating I am waiting for a direct, and not going to assume.

Many people had the same reaction but you have singled me out as an easy mark.

I WANT this game.
I WANT to be on this site!

So please, PLEASE stop attacking my initial reaction, and take a look at the positive posts, and there have been many.

Please stop. :(

I mean, it's not like any of your points are hard to understand, it's that we can't say 100% for sure that microtransations won't be a thing. Which is what you're doing. You have proof to believe there won't be any, and I don't believe there will be any, but only Nintendo can disprove it.

I think if you made this thread in hopes of assuaging people's anxiety about the lack of info, you might want to dial it back a little? Kind of feels a bit hostile in here.

Yep, I've read through the original post I can't find any proof that there won't be. A strange thread title if you ask me.

Having said that, there won't be any microtransactions in this game.

(lol, imagine walking into Nook's store and everything has a real life price and can only be purchased that way :p)

Lol, if (this is a silly hypothetical situation, folks) they went that route, I could see them designing an adorable NPC just for microtransactions that everyone would hate on. And I would feel bad for it, because I'm easily swayed by cuteness.

I am sorry if I made you feel like I wanted to attack you.
That truly wasn't my intention.

It's just that I want people to stop spreading negativity about the game out of assumptions. I know people are worried, but at this point, there is nothing we can do but wait. The game is not going to change, whether we like the end-result or not. It's a lot more convenient to just be positive and hope for the best. I truly think that Nintendo listens to their fans and that they are going to give us a game we will all love.

This is a place where we can share our excitement and love, but of course also our concerns about the upcoming game. However, all that negativity (throughout all of the internet) is really overshadowing the anticipation (at least for me).

On another note, my initial reactions are often times somewhat irrational as well. That's completely normal! But then I try to calm down, take a deep breath and think about it. And most of the times, I realize that I concentrate on the worst case scenario first (which are- 99% of the time- really unlikely).

Again, I am sorry if something I said made you feel like you shouldn't be able to voice your concerns.

Thank you.

I am really trying to be positive.
I've even phoned nintendo.

I truly don't think they would add something that could drive fans away.

Paid DLC every now and then (yearly) would be fine. I'm am hoping, like the rest of you, that this is what the in game purchase refers to.

The point of this thread is to talk about the likeliness of micro transaction and how it's unlikely by disproving, not about whether or not there is going to be micro transaction like other threads. However, your response towards the thread was to wait until the direct. I understand where you are coming from but this isn't about waiting for confirmation, it's about whether or not there be micro transaction.

Do you have any talking points with sources supporting the claim that Nintendo may add micro transaction?

- - - Post Merge - - -

This applies to everyone btw as everything seems off topic

I think what spun this thread out of control was the word "prove." You would have been better off using "evidence suggests," or, "based on this or that."

Wording is important and I have been distracted lately. My apologies.

No one is attacking anyone, it's just because you are just the most vocal out of all the posts here on the subject, that is all. We are sorry if it seems that way.

Idk someone straight up called him "annoying" in a previous post and people liked it, I'd feel attacked if I were in that position

While I do agree with OP's evidence, let's not forget that none of us 100% know what will happen with the game.

That being said: Are we really that fragile of a community that we can't handle someone worrying about a feature of the game that hasn't been explained yet? We don't have to be happy all the time and we shouldn't try to silence people just because we don't agree with their take.

Let's just stick to what we do know, attacking someone for disagreeing isn't going to bring anything positive to the table.
