There will not be Microtransactions and I'm gonna prove it.

Idk someone straight up called him "annoying" in a previous post and people liked it, I'd feel attacked if I were in that position

Strange, i never saw anyone call john annoying, and I am pretty active on this part of the board...regardless, i see him as concerned and there's nothing wrong with that :)

this LMAO

it’s so annoying and contradictory. imagine being that negative all the time sheesh

I think this is what they are referring to. They weren't directly calling John annoying, just his behavior referring to his stance on microtransactions which has changed before. I mean, if we are gonna talk about someone directly insulting someone, we should refer to a dm I got awhile ago where a user referred to me as a spiteful person. I don't see it, however. I reported it so it's fine.

People really did blow this micro-transaction thing way out of proportion as I stated multiple times in another thread.

AC fans are the only fandom freaking out about this

I made a profile just to say this because I'm so over the madness.

I'm going to guess many of you haven't looked at any ESRB rating besides AC's. Pokemon, Luigi's Mansion, Fire Emblem, and more have the same rating and it usually means somewhere in the game you're prompted to subscribe to Nintendo's membership or it's about DLC, depending on the game. In Pokemon, the prompt is in the game if you try to access things only members can (according to my sis who has the game) and it might be the same for LM, if I'm not mistaken. That's technically an in-game purchase. But, literally no fandom has ever freaked out so much over a rating besides AC fans that whole threads are dedicated to it. Some AC fans have called Pokemon and Smash fans extra, look at us having to play detective over a freaking tag. Something that should be a non-issue. Instead of being positive, people here always seem to try to find something to complain about: from paths, to wanting free DLC (not gonna happen), to thinking shops aren't a thing just because we haven't seen them, and now to arguing over a tag. I get not ALWAYS being happy but these are just nit-picking a game that isn't even out, yet. Chill out, for Pete's sake.

Everything will be okay. Some of you are typing as if this is a super serious thing that warrants Nintendo dropping what they're doing right now to address it when it's just a tag. That's it. It means nothing to us right now and will continue to mean nothing until the game comes out. Don't let it occupy your minds so much because you will only end up making worst-case scenarios (as our brains tend to do) and jumping to conclusions.

The biggest problem with Nintendo not releasing any information is that people will take every small piece of information that they do get and make massive extrapolations from it.

Animal Crossing is a series that greatly benefits minimal information release.

Further proof of this: Only one ESRB rating, the website, had the "in-game purchases" menu.

And guess what

it's gone.

Some people look for something to get worked up about. Either it's catastrophizing or it's a pessimistic outlook, but they just can't believe in a good thing and maintain an optimistic view until/unless facts show otherwise.

Me? When the optimistic view = simplest explanation = assuming the null hypothesis until something is proven, it's an easy decision to make: dismiss unsubstantiated worries.
