and the lergest nintendo forum on Inision free more then 3,000 hits PMed tons of poeple and as a result 50,000 pots and 500 members. And alot of them post alot!

thats not such a large amount of posts for such a "large" amount of users... we already beat them... we have almost 20,000 posts, and 149 members :|

spamming PM's with an advertisment just wont work... im sorry... but they really dont.

the last thing you want to do is let newcomers edit... Editing is a privilage... not a right.

Editing should be givin around 1000 posts, but thats not what we are talking about is it




Polls should be allowed after about 250... 250 is low, if a person came here and wanted to post a poll... they would hear you only need 250 posts... then think "thats not to bad" they would come to post, and get 250... think its simple, and stay til 1000, by the time they can edit (1000) they will be known around here and come back regularly... its that simple.


so now that i just solved how to keep people... lets focus on how to bring them in...

bringing people in shouldn't be a chore... just tell your friends you know from NSider than like animal crossing about this place... if everyone told someone we would double in size... of those that stayed, they told someone else we would double form that... not to hard.... just remember if you are going to say something... dont approach in an advertising matter.... just see if they would be interested... dont try to brag... just say "well, i enjoy it here... its based on animal crossing... has great members, and is overall fun... come try it, if you dont like it you dont have to stay" something like that works better than throwing forums at people.

Trust me when I want someone to do somthing I make it as if it is a privlage to do it and I never said newcomers and 1,000 should be enough I mean 2,934 or what ever is a bit too much....

we have 150 we will say, our post total is 18,000

they have 500 and their post total is 50,000

now, 18000 goes into 50000 2 times

150 goes into 500 3 times...

they have 3 times more members... and only 2 times more posts... we are ahead.

why you may ask? its because of PM advertisements... if somone keeps pestering them, they will join... post once... then never return :|

i never received any sort of Email from Nsider... the reason its so big is because its nintendo... they are smart enough to advertise it in their main website... and are so user friendly, people join... but even there a large portion never return... i was one of them until one day i just felt like comming back :|

best ways...

let them join on their own
give them something to join for
have a friend get them to join.


ways NOT to get people to join... if you want them to stay that is:

PM them
Advertise everywhere

That is an idiot....and it does work clcik here and it did have 50,000 it changed becuase the Spam board had to be deleted. Now pming is a gamble you may get poeple who post 2 times but you can also get poeple who stay. I think it is wirth it and if they don't like what you did who cares they don't join.
