Things you'd like to see in the next AC installment?

I don't think its fair to say he "had a vision 20 years ago," he was the producer/director in every iteration of Animal Crossing. After doing some research I can indeed see he is no longer listed as the director/producer but as "General producer. " I'm not sure exactly what that entails and its a little hard to find information on this.
He got promoted to Deputy General Manager of EAD back in 2013, and when they merged the handheld and console divisions of Nintendo to form EPD in late 2015, he retained that role, and he's been credited as general producer on a load of EPD's games ever since (although he's credited as producer on some of Nintendo's smaller eShop titles as well as some other games that have multiple producers, like 51 Worldwide Games and the Xenoblade remake).

I think it means he acts as one of the producers as it's ultimately produced under his department, along with Shinya Takahashi (who is General Producer on pretty much everything Nintendo makes nowadays), but is less active than the main producer (NH's producer is Hisashi Nogami, who co-directed the GameCube game with Eguchi, directed WW on his own, and co-directed the Wii game with Isao Moro, who later directed NL with Aya Kyogoku, and directed HHD on his own, and who left Nintendo in 2018), but I'm not 100% certain (so please feel free to clarify!)

Its a different game. Buy that doesn't make it a bad game. To me it's vastly superior to other titles.

It removed all the bad parts like shampoodles and the post office. And gave us the creative freedom we wanted.

Definitely not a bad game, but I do feel they've dumbed down a lot of things villager wise, which makes the game lose some charm. The original AC game was more focused around your villagers, and less how your town looked. Heck, you only had 1 room, so your house wasn't too much of a creativity sink.

With all the past games as a whole
- Villagers were more talkative
- You could ask them for work
- You had an opportunity to invite them to your house
- You had an opportunity to be invited to their house.
- You could compete with them in the fishing/bug competition.
- You could compete with them in a gardening competition
- You could invite them to your house on Flea Market day to sell stuff
- You could visit them on flea market day to buy their stuff.
- You could interact with them singing different town tunes on La-Di-Da Day
- You could make wishes on your birthday, and they'd remind you every month
- You could write them letters, and they'd show you later making comments on it.
- You could interact with them on April Fools, proving how much you know/care for them
- Writing letters to your villagers was less tedious and felt more enjoyable when you hand off the envelope(s) to the postal worker, and more rewarding when you got a response from them.

It's great that we can gift our villagers once per day now, but this feature feels worthless once you reach max friendship, and also unwanted since your villagers will likely add it to their house incompetently.

If we could get the villagers to become the center of attention again, I would really like that. The move towards 100% town development simulation isn't serving well. We need a balance.

The original Animal Crossing game was meant to be sort of a reflection of its creator, who moved to a new town (Kyoto?), and had to adjust to a new life and new people.
