the fact that sheep villagers don't have visible ears. is there a reason for it? probably not, i guess nintendo just thought that not giving any of the sheep ears would be okay

Honestly I didn't think much of it. Maybe the wool hides thier tiny ears? What about floppy ears tho??

I love the sheep so much they are one of my favorite species in the game because of how cute their model is and there is so many cute sheep designs, we have a clown sheep, a goth sheep, a pastel sheep, a pinecone sheep, a pink sheep, a cloud sheep, a fast food sheep, natural design sheep...
I think they are fine without ears but maybe they would look even better with ears it depends on how Nintendo makes their ears.

i actually never paid attention to the fact that they don’t have ears lol. like @/Belle T said, i always assumed that they were covered by their horns, or even replaced by them. i’m not bothered by it, though. the only thing i don’t really like about how the sheeps look is that they aren’t as floofy-looking in new horizons as they were in previous games.

I think it's because of the shirts. In previous games, they only wore scarves, so their floof could floof freely.

And I also always assumed their ears were just hidden by their horns. So the apparent lack of ears never bothered me.

I think about this every single time I draw one of the sheep. It feels so weird to leave the ears out!

My personal guess for why they're missing is maybe the devs were worried adding ears would make the sheep too top heavy design wise. It's hard to say if that would've been the case without seeing how the ears would've actually looked in-game. I do personally feel the horns at least somewhat make up for the lack of ears since they take up so much space. Would've looked really bald otherwise...

Somehow I never realized this before! I guess I forgot real sheep don't hide their ears under their horns.

I suppose they thought the design looked too busy with both horns and ears, but the horns were too fun/unique to pass up

exactly, the reason I made this thread is bc last night I was drawing a sketch of Willow and I realized she would look a lot better if I drew her having droopy little ears.

I think it's fair that maybe their ears are covered by their horns, but idk I think they would look better with them lol.
