thread limitation for nooks cranny?

I don't think there were bad intentions. We could all be just a little kinder in our critique. When people feel attacked, it's harder to accept what is being said. If I did something rude without knowing, I would probably have appreciated a PM telling me what I could do instead rather than be called out in a thread and have people calling me scummy and saying they'll ignore me. Now, I'm not saying anything against you guys here as I understand your frustration. But let's just be kinder :)

i dont think there were bad intentions either, but i do think there was a lack of respect for other sellers and buyers. i personally wont be buying from the person, and im not afraid to say so in my critique
also, this is just me giving my side and opinion!! not bashing you

i dont feel like responding another time, but i wouldve ignored them from seeing the spam as well. i stick to what i said

There's only one solution. Burn the forum to the ground and let the rubble settle til we can forge a new society, one with unlimited collectibles.

Jokes aside, a possible solution could be limit posts making to every 6hrs or how many the staff think is fair. until they lock their previous thread. There's a possibility they may have sold/bought what they wish before the timer ends.

I think a subforum for Auctions, Giveaways and Shops would be a good thing. Those types of threads need long term exposure to get good traffic, as they can get quickly buried in the sea of buy/sell/trade threads that pour in everyday. You can merge your shops, separate them from your specific buy threads and not take up more room on the first page of the main forum.

But with what we have now, it might be good for those that have multiple threads to only bump one every hour or so.

Hi there!

I just wanna say an opinion of mine rq and state this:

the shops titles have what they have for a reason. I understand having more that one thread if you have Celeste DIYS and another for a crafting service. Maybe one more for buying and selling items. Titles are the reason that most people click on your thread. You can’t fit everything in one thread or else it’s a mess imo. I’ve seen threads such as: CRAFTING SERVICE|BUYING DIY|SELLING NMT|CELESTE DIYS (not calling anyone out just took what was in my head!) And to me it’s really overwhelming and I stray away from it due to the clutter. I get that most normal TBT users are used to is but new people could be confused (imo, I know that’s a bold statement). It’s about marketing honestly and if your title doesn’t entice people they will be more likely to click on one that does. I agree that the sorting should be handled better when you are making a thread and that title changes are better than a new thread! C:

Now I don’t believe that you should have more that 3 threads but I can understand where you have more than one. Bumping all at once is normal when people first wake up/when they are free. Should you bump all of them every two hours? No, it is a little annoying.

I also want to say that I agree that the person should have gotten a nice PM addressing the situation c: thanks for reading that!

just to clarify, since some people seem to be reacting to the actions of the user formerly showcased in question way too aggressively

my intention was never to single any person out as to say "you shouldn't do business with them", but purely to highlight a problem I've noticed. I have no qualms with them trying to do business and also despite being rather tactless, don't think their multiple unnecessary threads are created with malicious intent that warrants any sort of private blacklisting either

basically, if you have some means of doing desirable business with them, by all means, go ahead and take it. there's better things to be petty over

I don't think that it's that big of an issue right now, but if it gets worse, I definitely agree that there should be some kind of concrete rule put in place.
I think the issue here though is it feels like (at least imo) one of those things that should be nipped in the bud before it cascades into an even bigger much harder to control issue

at least for while the board is hyper active. they could ease up on it after things cool down, similar to how they allowed the villager trading plaza board to include looking for threads after it got way less active

I guess, yeah. Most egregious cases of thread spamming (e.g. to circumvent the bumping rule) are probably already covered by the rules. Having multiple threads for completely different things and bumping them simultaneously isn't the end of the world (within reason, of course), but I think that you're more concerned with different threads for similar items. In that case, I think forcing those threads to be merged is a good idea, potentially leading up to a warning if it starts to become really disruptive / persistent.
