Have you used Time Travel?

I have been thinking about changing my ordinance to Night owl. What time exactly does everything stay open until? :)

T&T is 12pm I think, Retail is like 2am.. not sure on the others. Your villagers stay up later too.

I try not to time travel to extreme amounts. I admit I've went a day or two forward and then back a couple times, though. I just really wanted to get rid of Monique. :c

Nope; I'd rather play the game how it's meant to be played. Animal Crossing isn't supposed to be a game you rush through, otherwise you get through it and become bored much quicker. d:

See, I think if you time traveled at all, then you've time traveled. You can't say, "because of this I did it" or "I only did it to open stores". It's still technically cheating.

I time travel, but usually only a week or a month back and then I go forward again. I tt for weeds.

That being said, it's kind of annoying when people say they dislike TTing, but then run to the nearest TTer they can find, so they can get their hair done. >__>

I personally got my hair done at my Japanese friend's town.

I don't time travel, but I don't see why not. It's my game and I can play it however I want.

I actually don't consider it cheating. Dupe glitches etc I consider cheating. But that's just my personal opinion. :(

T&T mart is actually 5am

Ah D: my memory is rubbish.

Why does it matter how people play their game? I don't time travel but I don't make threads criticizing how people choose to play their game. It doesn't really matter.

I time traveled once, on the first day. Only so I could start on my approval rating, and I haven't done it since. If I miss an event day or something, I might TT. But I prefer to play naturally.

Oh, dupes are def. cheating. But really, don't let the regrets take you, or else- why did you TT to begin with? Enjoy the experience & just try to NOT let Redd rob you. (= *ooo, dat fox has sold me 2x fakes!*

Why does it matter how people play their game?

I see the poll as a solid indicator to how users play the game. It's good statistical information.

I have always found that Animal Crossing games are best when played without time traveling. Keeps you hooked for longer and is the way the game is meant to be played.

In the GameCube version I had a second town for a while where I time traveled and it was just boring and there was no reason to return, since that is the main appeal I have not done it since.

It makes me kinda sad to see how some people are trying to explain or "defend" themselves for having time traveled. It's just a game.
I voted yes. :)

I'm in it for the journey so I like to take it one day at a time. I can understand why some people time travel because they want to see all the new things right away but I think playing it day by day and slow experiencing everything this has to offer is a much more enjoyable experience.
Animal Crossing is a marathon not a sprint.

I do time travel a bit, but not long distances.

Basically, I'll briefly travel ahead for 1 day to see my completed public works project after I pay for it, then I'll quickly switch it back to current day and time. I never travel too far ahead.

The only other time that I time travel is when I've harvested my entire town, but want all the fruit back on the trees because the town looks too plain without them (chalk that up to my slight case of OCD). But again, I quickly go back to current day and time. I like the town to be synced to real life (for the most part).

So for me, I do enjoy the slow pace of the game, but there are some waiting periods that I personally find to be unnecessary - especially when you work full time, and the amount of time that you have to play is limited (mostly while commuting to and from work).

There's no right or wrong way to play the game, it's a personal preference. If you're enjoying the pace that you're currently playing at, you're not doing anything wrong. ;)

The purists scare the people that are interested in it, and even create more purists because of it. It's a trend that is never going to end. It happens with other games as well; If there is a social norm then others follow suit.

As soon as I knew how to Time Travel in City Folk, I went crazy. But that's one reason to why I used to get bored easily and restart, so I've learnt my lesson and I'm not Time Travelling again. I don't hate it, I don't really mind if people do it.

I did run to my friend's town who Time Travels to get my hair done...!

I TT all the time.
I don't understand why it is a huge deal? You paid for the game, it's yours. Do what you want. I have friends who don't TT and some who do, and we manage to get along? It's just an opinion and everyone has his or her own.

When I TT though I don't TT like a month ahead or whatnot. I also always end up back to the correct date & time. :D

If someone wants to time travel, that is their choice. Let them enjoy their game the way they want. So I have no issue with time traveling and I used it to get the first Nookling upgrade.

I've never done it, but that isn't to say that I wouldn't. *shrug* I mean, that Gracie hairbow wig is only available in the Spring, and I'd love to get my hands on it without feeding the auction sharks. :D

And I'm certainly not gonna get all Judgy McJudgerton toward people who do time travel. You bought it- you enjoy it as you like. What other people do in their own game does not concern me.
