hello,

I've been trying to TT to get rid of 3 unwanted random villagers and no matter what I do they won't budge... no one has asked to move yet. I've starting TTing years at a time now and nothing yet -- are there any tips or tricks to this? I've complained to isabelle so many times but so far nothing...

thanks!

Based on other things I've read I get a feeling villagers won't actually move out unless you personally go through the dialogue with them. Someone came up with a method of TTing 15 days at a time between 12-3pm since that's when everyone is active, and looking for every single villager for the bubble. If no one has a bubble, advance one day and repeat.

What i do is talk to them once and then don’t talk to them, 5 days later they move out and has worked like a charm for me. My problem is a new villager taking their spot too quickly before i can find a villager i want haha

Well, I actually talked to Monty and Quillson once and time traveled after that, never talked to them again. And after some days Monty had a Bubble and wanted to move out. So I’m trying the same with Quillson and letting you know if it works. I just think that if you ignore them long enough, it’s more likely that they want to move out.

Edit:CJ8080 just confirmed it.

How many days did you time travel? And did you have to time travel multiple times?

It could not have been more than a couple days. Don’t know the exact number anymore. Weirdly enough I traveled backwards to my original date. That’s when I started the Game and Monty had the Thinking Cloud above his head.

And I only traveled once there. I hope it can be of some help.

If we have more People confirming it, we can be 100% sure about that method.

ohh thank you all so much for the input! I tried the talk to them then TT 5 days later based on CJ8080 's suggestion -- it took maybe 3 or 4 tries but it worked ! I still can't seem to target one villager in particular (two villagers I like ended up asking to move before my targeted villager) but as long as it's someone I can cycle through until then one I want moves out, theoretically.

When you say 3 or 4 tries, does this mean you TT-ed 15-20 days total? I.E. TT 5 days into future, check for bubble, TT another 5 days if there's no bubble/the wrong villager has the bubble, and repeat.

Or did you just reload the same day (5 days into the future) without saving (I'm not sure if autosaving prevents this)?

I have 3 villagers I want to get rid of so I'm trying to figure out the fastest way to boot them :)

I'm also curious about this. Did you talk to them and them TT one day at a time until you got to 5 or just 5 days ahead in one go? If it didn't work, did you talk to them again and then TT other 5 days until the method worked?

You don't have to talk to them at all. They will indicate they want to move out even if you never introduce yourself to them. I personally don't TT day by day because that takes way too long considering villagers can go weeks without asking to move out.

I would love to know, as well, if you just went back 5 days and repeated until it got it right, or if you did a total of 15-20 days!

I did a total of 15-20 days, 5 days at a time. some villagers wouldn't be outside so I'd continue to progress forward 5 days. not sure if going back 5 days and repeating would do the same thing or not, but I'd be interested to test that out. I also only tried this once to get one villager out so I'd like to keep testing this method!
