Thx for the information! I even feel more confident because I'm going to time travel on a different character! Unfortunately, because Nintendo had a dumb idea about the game, I need to wait a day to change the ordiance and wait for it.
Just remember that even if it's not your mayor. As long as you are using as existing alternate character, when you talk to Isabelle and she preloads the town it means that she is saving as she loads. So for a villager reset trick using a preexisting alternate character will not help you. It would be as if you were on your mayor. You have to create a new town villager and do that whole Rover on the rails thing.
Even the plot counts as a full 10 villagers. I'm not sure if they'll ask you to move then or not.

You best bet would be the villager reset trick and try to get a good camper or random plot I should think. Rather than try to run off more animals. :3a

What's your reason for having to TT?
No one will fill your 10th spot unless a villager from someone else's town or the campsite is moving in.

Might get into TTing to get some desired villagers. Not having much luck on the forum with Tangy, Mitzi, Rosie, Lolly, Phoebe, Molly, Flora, Fauna, Lily, Puddles, Henry, or Peanut and I don't really care for 7 of my 9 villagers. REALLY don't like 2 of them.
