villagers that became dreamies due to social media

Social media has never influenced my dream villagers. They were chosen based on species and color.

Social media has never been a factor in my choice of villager. Yes Raymond was everywhere but I just thought he was cute I didnt care what anyone else thought. Molly I had never heard of til i saw her on tbt(this was in nl days). Dom is the only one of the new villagers I haven't encountered which is a shame because he's adorable. Maybe one day.

I don't think I'm easily influenced. :p Definitely not by memes. I like a lot of the more popular villagers, but not because of social media. I think it helps that I played New Leaf and HHD first without really visiting any AC sites.

I wouldn't say they are favorites, but there are a few less popular villagers I've given a second look because others have mentioned they like them, like Derwin, Pate, Hazel, or Cleo. Didn't care much for any of the NH villagers, except now for Sasha. He's adorable.

Pekoe and Genji became dream villagers of mine due to pictures on Twitter of their housing areas and the decorations that would go well with my town's theme, very aesthetically pleasing.

I don't know if any became dreamies for me solely because of social media, but social media has definitely influenced how I see and therefore how much I like certain villagers.

Audie is probably the clearest example. I wouldn't have cared for her much if I didn't know the story of the grandmother. She is living on my island now because I met her on a Nook Island, but I am gonna switch her out. But I don't know if I would have picked her up without knowing the story, I don't think so.

Leopold is one of my absolute dreamies now and while there is barely any content about him on social media, what I saw definitely made me like him a lot more. I think I kind of forgot he existed before I saw someone talking about him, and that got the ball rolling and now I love him so much.

I don’t pay too much attention to villager popularity. Though I did regret allowing Vic to move out for a different cranky after realizing he was UNpopular. What’s not to love about a viking bull?

I don’t mind having popular villagers, but while I like the quirkier concepts, I can’t imagine having Merengue or Raymond specifically because they’re SO mega-popular.

honestly, there have been many times me and my friends have taken certain villagers from mystery islands, just cuz we know theyre popular and can make a lot of bells from them by moving them out lol

I'm sorry to point that out but... For players who don't want popular villagers because of their high popularity : you're as much influenced by popularity that the players that want them because they're popular.
It's obvious you are paying attention to that and also social media in a way, even if it is in a different manner 😅

Just love the villager you want guys, popular or not 💞

Would you consider watching the Direct on Youtube, a social media? I don't really use FB or Instagram or anything...but I admit that when I saw Gala on the update Direct I just...I dunno. Appreciated her cuteness more than I ever had prior? I guess I never really saw her in game before? Now I am giving serious thought to putting her on my newly restarted island...

bonbon bonbon bonbon! she's so cute, wish she got more love. saw her on some posts on social media a while ago and her face immediately caught my eye, love how sassy she looks

Yeah, admittedly the better word is ‘try’ not to pay too much attention. Succeed, harder to do. ^^; You couldn’t escape Raymondmania last year, though, so it’s probably going to be a bit before I’d be able to see him without remembering some of the Weirdness, and I like a lot of villager designs so it’s easy enough to go looking for a villager I like when a personality type needs filling without zeroing in on anyone in particular. Which is probably more the point - I like too many designs to have consistent dreamies. (This is also the issue when asking me what my favorite Pokemon is. Or even favorite Pokemon in type. Makes team planning inconvenient.)
