There was another thread talking about goals for New Horizons and it had me thinking. In New Leaf everyone had their "dreamies" and went to great lengths to get them. And because there was only 10 villager limit, a lot of us didn't rotate villagers.

So question is....is anyone going to purposely try out new villagers in this game, if so which ones do you want to try out and why.

Actually, I'm hoping to do quite the opposite. I spent a lot of time with my New Leaf town trying to get villagers I wanted from here or Amiibos. In New Horizons, I am going to let the villager cycle happen naturally. I want this to be a fresh start.

I'm thinking of doing the same, honestly. I want to see who comes around and see if I find any new dreamies!

I agree with the other posters, I would like to simply get to know the villagers I end up with. However, since I never got to play with the villagers that were introduced with the Welcome amiibo update, I'd love it if they were included in the base game! I especially like Gonzo and ?toile.

I never really bought into the whole 'keep villagers consistent' idea (beyond never letting Lobo leave) so I'll be playing it the same way I always have.

With a very few exceptions (not a fan of the gorillas), I will do as I've always done - let villagers come and go. If I find one I really love, I'll persuade them to stay, but now that we can nudge them on where to put houses, it won't completely disrupt things if one moves out and someone else comes to try island life.

I'm actually just going to be letting whoever move in and move out. I tried to do the whole "dreamies" thing and get certain villagers in my town and I didn't like it. It was too time consuming and put a lot of stress on me, so I'm not going to do that ever again. :/

I actually ended up doing this on my NL file after a while. It's a lot of fun! The game has so many villagers, so there are all of these characters you don't even consider being dreamies for you just because you've never even seen them before. I think I will also be doing this on New Horizons.

I’ve always let my villagers cycle naturally, I believe I’ve only ever prevented one or two villagers from leaving because I didn’t get their pictures and I really wanted them. This game will be no different, I welcome any villager to my island!

I want Wolfgang for sure. And probably the other villagers I had in NL.

I'm not good with change.
I like who I like. ^_^

I typically keep villagers till i get their pictures, or forever if I really like them :p I've never had flurry but would love to though

There are a lot of villagers I've never crossed paths with. I only had a total of 50 villagers in New Leaf. Here are some of the ones I'm hoping to meet at some point:

Bonbon
Broffina
Carmen
Del
Diva
Hazel
Lionel
and Monty.

I've never used amiibo to get villagers I want, so I've never had that perfect "dream town" unfortunately. Some of the ones I would like to have at some point in New Horizons are:
* Rosie
* Tom
* Punchy
* Bob
* Cookie
* Ursala
* Tammy
* Yuka

I totally agree. I decided to welcome Mallary when she moved in long ago and I will never let her leave. She lives by my house by the ocean and she's one of my top 3 friends at my bday parties. She's just a staple now.

I was looking at Alyssa drawing/sketching every Animal Crossing characters on her YouTube account and I really liked the design for Dobie (which I never heard or saw before), and the concept of an elderly wolf is appealing to me. I'd liek to hand him a flat cap and he'd be strolling around to a park bench every day in my town, throwing bread crumbs to birds, and getting cranky at people for no reason at all.

I'm going to have Rolf this time around.
I haven't had Rolf in a game since Wild World, and he's always been one of my favorites. His design rocks.

For the most part, I just wanna accept whatever villagers come to me naturally, but Chrissy would be kinda fun! I've had Francine before but never Chrissy, I don't think.

Pocket Camp opened my eyes to a lot of villagers who I didn't really care for before, but Drake, Avery, Kiki are the ones I'd like to see most on my island.

I will not looking for any specific villagers, I just let them come and go like in New Leaf.

I think I will at least try to be relaxed about who is living on the island, but Tangy, Daisy and Snake will probably always be villagers I desperately want.
