Visitor Message Notification Glitch

I'm not sure if this is a glitch or not but I'm always stuck with 1 notification. When I click on it, it always says "1 Unread Visitor Message". Normally when I click on it, it takes me to my profile page where I can see the VM and the notification goes away. But now I'm always stuck with that one notification even though I read the message earlier today.

I doesn't bother me that much but I just realised that this makes it harder for me to check my private messages since I can't access my inbox without sending a pm to someone and go to inbox from there.

So is there a way to fix this?

there was a thread like this a while ago i know i fixed it but i believe you just delete your most recent visitor message.

are any of your messages vitally important though?

you can just delete the ones off the first page if you dont need them

Its happened to me before, but it generally disappears eventually. Sometimes I just click on it twice and it fixes itself.

That's what happened to me as well, but I just deleted the most recent message and it was gone

Does this glitch continue to happen even after you fully close out of the internet and get back on?
