The fact that Oatchi is basically a dog without a nose kind of gave it away for me.
The eyes also look iconic so there's also that.

I was staring at the image . . . and then I kind of unfocused my eyes a little . . . and suddenly I saw the floppy ears. This is the proudest moment of my time on this forum, just going to savor it while waiting for my inevitable failure next round.

I can't believe i got this right! at first I saw nothing, then I thought I was seeing a face, Mario or Luigi I thought. Then I thought it might be olimar from pikmin which put my mind to that game and got me to the dog. I never really played any of the pikmin games(a friend of mine had 1 and 2 back when i tried it a time or two but that's it) i did see the nintendo direct that focused on the dog a few times. Otherwise i never would've gotten it.
