weird names

Tanner is a weird name

Yeah I thought that was a weird name too. I discovered it through Lazarbeam's channel as his sister is named Tanner, and I can't get over what a strange name that is lol

i havent met anybody w any really weird names, bc my school is quite diverse a lot of people have names you wouldnt hear everyday here. people might also think my name is stupid but i like it so o well i guess

thats my real name and AGREED LOL i hate it so much

I hate any thing like Brody/Baylor etc
I also know a girl who named her kids Xaidee and Xeric because she wanted to be cool and give her kids names w Xs

How exactly do you pronounce Xeric? I kind of like that one tbh

if it's the one i think it is it's actually pretty cool

also re the X's i think it depends a bit on the language as well..

That’s interesting. I wonder if they were ever interested in Pokemon... lmao

He loved Pok?mon, actually. Our weekends were typically spent together in another friends garden playing our Gameboys. :p

Oh, that sounds like a lot of fun! That’s awesome, actually. Thanks for sharing that. :)

I knew a girl named America. I don't know why you'd name your child after your entire country? What if they decide they no longer want to live there?

I went to grade school with a girl named Pebbles. Her parents must have been big fans of The Flintstones. And speaking of naming children after countries I used to work with a woman named Panama and another named India.

so if she sneezes someone'll say 'god bless you, america'?

This was years ago and I don't know if this is true, but one of my classmates told me one time there was this one girl named One Dollar. That's the weirdest name I've ever heard but it doesn't beat the ridiculous name where I heard that a baby was named Hashtag.

friend of a friend named their kids 'Honor Creed' and 'Valor Steel' mom's name was 'English'

I'm not one to judge but they seem... off.

Pretty much the weirdest name I?ve heard is Billy Joe. She works at my store.

I?ve read a lot of the names people have posted here and tbh their parents should be ashamed of themselves. Smh.

My friends sister named her daughter Sailor so there?s that.

Except now that I?m thinking about it I feel like they spelled it...wrong?
Like sailer or sailar. I honestly can?t remember as it?s been awhile though.

I saw a child named Goldorak once, it was the French name of a robot in an old anime.
Where I worked some of my customers had names that sound like puns, too bad I didn't note them.
Or one family had "y" everywhere in their names. (it was like Jymmy, Ymyly, Bylly, Tyfany ...)
But the funniest was that time a customer told me her name and another customer in the waiting room got excited and yelled "Just like my dog!!!!" and that second lady just didn't want to shut and continued to talk about her dog sharing the same name to the first lady who was pretty fed up.

In elementary school, I once knew of a kid whose first and last name were both numbers (no, I'm not joking. Think something like "Nine Eleven").

It's not a bad name, but I know a 17 year old named "Esther." I think parents should stick with names popular in that year. I wouldn't think anyone under the age of 40 would have a name like "Esther" but I was wrong, lmao.

Also, if we are talking about bad names, my last name is pretty bad. I obviously can't say it for obvious reasons. I don't want my legal last name being known around the forums. It's just, really bad. People often mispronounce it in a way that makes it even worse. I wish I could talk about it actually, but I really don't want my last name out there.

Edit: Just fixing a typo...

Any names that fall into the category in the meme above I find personally cringey, but, I also don't like to judge or make quick assumptions about names. Sometimes they have a significance culturally or personally that is important even if it seems bizarre at first glance.

one of my boyfriend's coworkers named his daughter Annie May.......... on purpose..........

I once taught a little boy named Danger. He was an absolute sweetheart and it was made all the more strange given that his sister had a more normal name.
