Welcome to The Bell Tree World Championship!

so at the risk of sounding like a dumbass, how would one verify it's themself spectating if their twitch handle is different from their tbt one?

also, is there any minimum level of spectator chat activity that would be expected to earn points for spectatng? (I guess to 'prove' you actually are spectating, and didn't just jump in but actually aren't paying any attention)

Omg, someone turn that into a haiku.

The points for spectating are for Discord only 😊

cool, now I've gone from slightly confused to lost in a complete other country
you spectate on twitch but chat is in the tbt discord. if youre active in chat a mod will tag you in the game post when the event concludes. you link the mods post in your team points submission thread

hope this helps. sorry if it wasnt what youre confused about

ah, ok then. thanks!

guess I'll have to continue my thing of only ever posting in the tbt discord during events lol.... though usually it's just for trivia nights

Hi! I just opted in, decided to at least participate at little to get the patch. 🙂

Your team's Points Redemption Station thread will have a paragraph outlining everything you need to know concerning how to earn points as a spectator.

Hope it's ok to still opt in! I thought I was going to be absurdly busy for the next couple of weeks, but it turns out I'll have some time to join in on the TBT world championship fun. :)

How much activity/posting would be considered active for spectating a stream, and would you have to be active during the whole stream, or would being active only during a certain part (like 20-30 minutes) count?

There isn't really a set amount. If we are scrolling through the Discord chat after a session concludes and see your name coming up every now and then with a message relevant to the content (e.g. perhaps commenting on a teammate's performance in an MK8 race) then we consider that as actively engaging with the livestream.

Just wanted to put in some feedback for the future. I love all the events you guys create, but this one has been a bit hard for me. I’m trying to participate as much as I can to support the team, but I want to be able to do more.

I would like to give some feedback if possible. I’m hesitant to post it, because i really love the events. There’s just some minor things I think could be improved.

I would love it if in the future there was live streaming for the animal crossing obstacle course. I don’t really own any of the other games, and I was very exited to spectate on this, however I noticed there’s no live viewing.

It’s also a bit hard to view the other live sessions since I don’t have a computer. I only use my phone. I would love if there was some phone friendly options to just use one site instead of two. Like watching and chatting on just twitch instead of discord and twitch.

I hope it’s ok to post this 😬
I mean no disrespect.

Hi there! I'm afraid these are not things that we could possibly change if we run an event like this again and I'll explain why.

The obstacle course would require us to need to keep up with contestants as they run the course. The contestants won't always be in the same part of the course and at times follow different paths. We would have to track only one player specifically and even then it would be difficult to guarantee us being able to keep that player in the shot at all times.

For your second point, we are simply unable to moderate both Discord and Twitch at the same time while also playing the game - it's difficult enough just doing 2/3 of those things! Many people also won't have a Twitch name that matches their TBT username and we can't easily search and verify participation. In Discord we make sure people have a nickname that resembles their TBT username (it's separate from their log-in name so not an unreasonable request!) and if we ever have them approach us to say they're missing from our spectator lists it only takes us a matter of seconds to verify it by typing their name into Discord's search tool.

I hope this helps to explain why these are not options we can offer in this event nor a future event like it.

Quite a bit late to this, but I use my phone for both twitch and discord! You can download the twitch app and minimize it and make it overlay on your other apps so it's playing while you're chatting on discord. The minimized stream is a bit small but at least you're still able to keep up on your phone. :) Hope this helps!

No worries! Is it possible on an iPhone? I couldn’t figure it out.
