The NFC reader for my original 3DS... It seemed like a good idea at the time, but...
That 3DS has since then broke and now I use a New 3DS XL and a New 2DS XL, which both have NFC readers built in.
There was no point and I should have waited instead of getting it.

Also... this happened to my brother too. We were not happy with how the last season went. Just a few days ago, he looked at that book and realized he regretted it.

Long Storytime warning
Most of my dumb purchases were in video games and with no real currency.
However between 4-7 years ago I had this game on my iOS that I really loved a lot so I got iTunes money for my birthday that year and I brought this membership "pack" that lasts depending on how much you payed, I mustive spent like 49 dollars (cannot remember the exact price idk if I was even close) for a membership pack that lasts 4-6 months (again I cannot remember the exact number).
I got a lot of stuff in those months and including a pet that was memebership exclusive and back then you used to keep it but now days I think it's locked away when the membership ends. But I brought the membership a month or a few more before the update so I got the keep the pet permanently after my membership.
After a while I got bored of the game and I am sure the last time I played must've been in 2018 or very late 2017 (or later but I forgot) (I think I missed out on half a month or more of my membership) and played less and less. It took me until this year! 2019-2020 to delete that game that was just rotting there ignored and wasting space on my device!.
May not seem like it but it was a huge waste of money I could have kept that money for something else...

Ocarina of Time 3D. I bought it back before I had a job and thus I got it with a very limited amount of money from my birthday. I should have been more careful, but I suppose I just wanted my first actual 3DS game for my 3DS, as there was pretty much nothing else available at the time.
I expected more than an unambitious 'remake' that felt, played, and sounded exactly like a remastered port with new models here and there. It was such a disgrace to a childhood game I loved. They couldn't even remake the OST or sound effects or anything.

i bought resident evil 4 on the switch thinking that it had gyro aim since iirc re5 and re6 do, didnt bother to check and ended up being disappointed immediately because its another cheap port. apparently gyro is a thing but not in the digital version, so for now i wasted ?25 when its much cheaper on other platforms and i havent touched the game on switch again due to limited storage space.
